34H 20yo and Considering - London, ON

I had my surgery yesterday and it went pretty smoothly. Had to stay 6 hours after due to vomiting but now I'm home and sleeping well. Minimal pain. Will update more when feeling up to it. Will attach before pictures.

So I am slightly terrified and also slightly excited. My surgery is April 30th and I had all of my preops. A part of me feels like I'm being ridiculous doing an elective surgery but then my back will start to hurt or I'll hate the way something fits. I am constantly checking the site, looking at peoples scar process, scars are still my biggest fear. Recovery is also a fear. I am bad with unknowns and I'm waiting to start looking for a job until after I find out how I heal. It's all been a very stressful process. But I'm trying to remember how amazing shopping for summer clothes is going to be in a couple months and I've made big plans for the summer that I would normally shy away from because of back pain.

I was approved by ohip so it became apparent that I need to make a final decision. After looking at all of my favourite stores websites and dreaming of actually fitting in to them, I had decided to go through with it. Then I told my mom and I was reminded how not excited she is about this. She believes I will grow to love them or accept them. I could deal with anyone else not understanding but not my mom. So I'm struggling.
