I had thought about breast augmentation for a long time. I had a reasonable amount of breast tissue but I always felt asymmetrical as I have quite broad shoulders. I didn't feel womanly and could not wear the clothes I wanted to to feel good.

I work in the medical aesthetic industry so had a good understanding of what was involved but spoke to a few colleagues (I said it was for a friend!) to find out who was the best in London for breast augmentation. I was recommended Paul by a colleague of mine who works closely with many plastic surgeons. She in fact gave me a list of 5 surgeons in central London who she felt would be excellent choices. I looked up all of them online and made appointments with 2 of them, Paul being one. I visited him twice for two consultations before booking and felt really comfortable with him in both sessions. He explained all the options very clearly, outlining the possible methods of implantation, the options for the types of gel in the implants and the quality of the implants he used. I felt more comfortable during the consultation with Paul than the other surgeon so chose Paul. The staff at the clinic were also very welcoming and replied promptly to all of my questions during the consultation process.

The hardest part was choosing which size implant to go as it is not as easy as saying which cup size you want. Paul advised 2 sizes that would suit me, per my measurements, he also said that in his experience he always recommends the larger if there is a choice between 2 and has had only one woman regret the choice. I was hesitant as I didn't want too big, I wanted to look very natural. I didnt want to walk into the office on the Monday morning and people ask me if i had had my boobs done! In the end I chose the larger size and now, I am so glad I followed his advice. However he said to take my time to think about it and I could even change my mind up until the morning of the surgery. I used his rice bag method of sizing many times over the couple of months before the surgery to check I was happy with the size.

On the day of surgery I saw Paul at the hospital, he put me at ease and we discussed my final decision on the implant. He explained again the full procedure and I just felt very comfortable. I stayed over night at the McIndoe centre, which felt more like a hotel with nurses checking on you than a hospital. The food was even good! The nurses were so caring and I saw Paul again before I left. The surgery felt really easy, with minimal pain and I was back in my office just over a week later.

It's 8 months since my surgery and I could not be happier. My only regret is I didn't do it sooner. I actually first investigated this procedure over 10 years ago, however if I had done it then I wouldn't have had Paul as my surgeon and he made a big difference. My breasts are perfect in shape and size and suit my body shape perfectly. I couldn't be happier and I am so much more confident with my body. I now wear all the sexy dresses I like!
