Hi, I am a 24 yr old mother of 3 preious boys. 4, 3, and 1. After having my boys back to back it has taken a toll on my body. I have an umbilical hernia that I have to get repaired along with the tummy tuck. After breast feeding my boys my breast just don't look like they used to. I got on here to get some advice on what to expect. Thanks

Updated on 22 Feb 2011:
So I had to change my surgery date to the 14th because the 11th is completely booked! Ugh so messes up my game plan. I am currently in school also so if I had my surgery on the 11th it would almost give me 2 weeks post op before I had to return to class. Oh well still excited to finally be getting the surgery.

Updated on 25 Feb 2011:
So I just found out that my PS doesn't do pre op appointments prior to surgery. Is that normal?

Updated on 25 Feb 2011:
Just got a phone call from the hospital going over PAT stuff. Don't have a surgery time yet but they will call me two days before. I'm hoping to be first start so I can have the rest of the day to relax before my kids get home. I have such a good hubby he is going to take off and take care of me and the kiddies so I don't have to do a thing!

Updated on 27 Feb 2011:
So as you know I have 3 amazing little boys whom I am very blessed to have. Well I don't want any more kids and I don't want to spend all this money and get pregnant again. So tomorrow marks 1 week until I get the "ESSURE" wwhich is an in office tubal. Has anyone on this site gotten that?

Updated on 1 Mar 2011:
So I was supposed to get a tubal on Monday March 7th but I found out the device I was getting contains nickel and I am really allergic to nickel... So that means the tubal is a no go. I wanted to make sure there is no possibility that I would get pregnant after spending all this money. So that also means the hubby has to get a vasectomy!

Updated on 4 Mar 2011:
So I just found out my fmla through is approved! Only 10 more days til the new me!

Updated on 5 Mar 2011:
I am totally obsessed with the website makemeheal.com! I just ordered a silicone girdle instead of the silicone scar sheets, some cold compresses for my breast, and some arnica montana. Has anyone used the arnica montana? 9 more days!

Updated on 7 Mar 2011:
Started feeling a little ill today :-( What can I do to get better fast? Surgery is in 7 days.

Updated on 9 Mar 2011:
Went to my PS office and had a mini pre op and we made a final decision on what size implant I'm getting. Still feel ichy and hope I feel better by Monday. I'm trying to rest up and drink plenty of fluids. Only 5 more days!!!

Updated on 11 Mar 2011:
Got my arnica supplement, silicone binder for my scar, and my compress bra in the mail today! Got a call from the hospital that I have to be at the hospital at 530 yay so my surgery should start at 730! 3 days!!!

Updated on 13 Mar 2011:
Tomorrow is the big day! What should I purchase such as foods etc. for the recovery process?

Updated on 14 Mar 2011:
Surgery went great! I got sick on the way home but I'm okay now. I'm a little uncomfortable but nothing I can't tolerate. I decided to get my implants subglandular and they look beautiful! I'll take pictures as soon as I feel a little more comfy.

Updated on 15 Mar 2011:
Post op day 1 and I feel great! No pain what so ever! I'm home alone today but I've been able to get up and down on my own and use the bathroom is a breeze haven't done number 2 yet. I'm so glad I did this!

Updated on 16 Mar 2011:
I have the worst heartburn since being pregnant! Has anyone else experienced this? Tried to take my girdle off to wash it and didn't get passed unzipping one side. It felt to weird. I did see my incision and its super low so that makes me happy!

Updated on 18 Mar 2011:
Day 4: stopped taking my prescription pain medicine because I'm not having any pain. My stomach is so flat and my swelling has gone down a lot . I got the boys dressed for daycare. I'm walking more and more upright. I feel great!!

Updated on 19 Mar 2011:
Took a shower by myself today! As tiring as it was I feel amazing! Got a postpartum binder today it feels so much better than the full body girdle I got from the hospital. Got my jeans on and my UK long sleeve shirt on. Rooting on my CATS!! GO BIG BLUE!

Updated on 21 Mar 2011:
1 week post op today and my hubby had to go back to work. I was so bored today and can't wait for Wednesday to get out of the house. That is my first post op appointment. Is anyone else experiencing numbness in your nipples after your breast augmentation?

Updated on 22 Mar 2011:
I feel a bit discouraged today when I look at my tummy. I know I'm only a week out but I guess I was expecting quick results like my breast. I have my first post op appointment tomorrow and I wanted to be one of those patients that is healing extremely quickly and well. Please tell me I'm being hard on myself ... UGH

Updated on 23 Mar 2011:
Just left my first post op appointment and I feel soooo much better! My doctor and his staff were so pleased and excited about my results that he took pictures and wants to post them on his website! I am so happy I made the decision to get this done :-D

Updated on 24 Mar 2011:
So yesterday was my first day picking up the boys from daycare since surgery. Can we say exhausting! My sister went with me since I can't carry the baby. Have to do it again today.

Updated on 26 Mar 2011:
Feeling really accomplished today! I took a shower and was able to stand the whole time and get dressed without getting exhausted! I am almost walking completely upright yay. 12 days post op today :-)

Updated on 27 Mar 2011:
I have what I think is swelling above my belly button and it is really tender and when I stand it is pretty sore. I'm just wondering if I should call my PS tomorrow and make sure it's not a seroma. What do u guys think?

Updated on 29 Mar 2011:
I am so swollen today it's making me bummed! I went out to lunch with my sister then to the mall to get a new support garment. I hope this makes me feel better. Ugh I hate set backs.

Updated on 30 Mar 2011:
Took an advil before bed lastnight and my swelling seems to have gone down! I bought a new support garment and it's pretty comfortable. My steri strips are slowly peeling off on their own they usually start to peel when I'm in the shower so I take2 showers a day. Lol overall having a good day so far.

Updated on 31 Mar 2011:
So I only have a few steri strips left and I can see part of my TT scar and it looks amazing! Barely anything there I guess it's because my surgeon uses the quill sutures. I can't wait to see the rest of the scar.

Updated on 3 Apr 2011:
I do have a dog ear on my right side that is a little sentive but I'm sure my PS will go back in and fix it if it doesn't flatten out. I started taking Arnica Montana and Bromelain again because my swelling got so bad and I woke up this morning to a flat tummy! I go back to my second post op appointment on Wednesday. I can't wait for him to see how much I've progressed! I'll be 3 weeks post op tomorrow.

Updated on 4 Apr 2011:
Well I'm 3 weeks post op today! Yay. I feel amazing woke up this morning and my stomach was so flat! All of my steri strips finally came off so I finally got to see my scar it look amazing there's barely a scar! I go to my second post op appointment Wednesday. I can't wait for my PS to see how much I've progressed!

Updated on 5 Apr 2011:
I'm feeling kind of bummed today. I feel like my left breast is obviously bigger than the right and there's nothing I can do about it because I got silicone implants. I go to my second post op visit tomorrow so I'm gonna express these feelings to my PS.

Updated on 6 Apr 2011:
Went to my appointment this morning and it went really well. He is still amazed at how well I'm healing. I expressed my concerns about my breasts and he just laughed at me and said they're perfect. He told me to start putting Aveeno lotion on my scar because it is so dry. He told me to massage it 2 times a day tops and a gentle massage not hard. He took more pictures and I go back in 5 weeks at my 2 month mark.

Updated on 11 Apr 2011:
4 weeks post op today! I feel great but I'm getting anxious about going back to work in 2 weeks. My job is really strenuous and I'm scared something is gonna happen. How did everyone else feel when they went back to work?

Updated on 18 Apr 2011:
5 weeks post op and feeling great! Everything is looking better and better everyday! I go back to work next week and I'm so nervous. How did everyone else manage?

Updated on 19 Apr 2011:
Well I'm going to work tomorrow. I'm sooooo nervous!

Updated on 22 Apr 2011:
Ok I love my new belly button because I've never had an inny but it isn't as small as a lot of women on here. Has anyone done the Chinese checkers trick?

Updated on 25 Apr 2011:
6 weeks post op today and I feel great the swelling has gone down drastically and I'm so happy. My scar is barely noticeable and my dog ear shrinking more and more everyday! Go back to work tomorrow and I'm ready. Gonna be on light duty until I go back May 11th for my 2 month post op appointment.

Updated on 27 Apr 2011:
Day 2 being back to work. I'm feeling great just exhausted after I get off. Swelling has been bad because I'm on my feet. I am ready to go back to my PS so he can clear me of light duty and I can work out and work on my abs. Again has anyone tried the Chinese checker trick for their belly button?

Updated on 29 Apr 2011:
Went to Gap today and finally got fitted for a bra. I am a 36C to 34D!!! I also got 2 bras for $20! Talk about a steal. I'm one happy girl :)

Updated on 3 May 2011:
7 weeks and working has got me so SWOLLEN!!!! Ugh it's hard to see the progress when u swell up like q balloon and it is so uncomfortable : (

Updated on 9 May 2011:
So I have tons of new pics but I have an iPhone and it is such a hassle to upload pics on here. If anyone knows how let me know. I have been back to work for 2 weeks on light duty but tomorrow is the big day that my restrictions are lifted :-/ I feel great and still have some swelling. Oh yeah I go back to my PS on Wednesday for my 2 month appointment. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Hope everyone had a wonderful Mothers Day!

Updated on 22 May 2011:
Wow I haven't been on in a while. Not much has changed. Things look better and better everyday. I was cleared to do whatever I wanted so I tried to do a mini ab work out can we say uncomfortable so I'm gonna give it a few more weeks before I try again. I'm gonna go on a run with the hubby later today let's hope I don't pass out. I still have y horrible dog ear on my right side that my PS said he won't fix until it's been 6 months. I go back to my PS in September for my 6 month post op. Hope everyone is healing well. I can't wait for the swelling to go away. Oh and does anyone else have an iPhone? I want to know how to upload pictures.

Updated on 31 May 2011:
This dog ear on my right side is driving me nuts! I am feeling slightly depressed because I don't feel any sexier. I have to suck my tummy in all the time and I don't have the energy to exercise! I feel like I should've gotten lipo of my love handles. I feel disgusting. Help me what can I do?

Updated on 5 Jun 2011:
Tomorrow will be my 12 week mark wow how time flies! I've been working out and jogging every other day. I started a diet to get toned and I'm feeling great! I have tons of photos I'm going to upload tomorrow. Hope everyone is healing great!

Updated on 13 Aug 2011:
It has been a while! I am 5 months post op and all the swelling is gone except for my belly button! I am loving my new body and will post updated pics soon!

I'm very excited for you! You're going to have a whole new body by summer. Wow!

I haven't heard of a doctor who foregoes the pre-op appointment. Make sure he's board certified and that you feel comfortable with him/her. And then you might want to head over to our expert Q&A community and post a question about why a doctor might not feel it's necessary to schedule a pre-op appointment (Sure would be nice to get all your questions answered at an appointment like that).

Please keep us posted on how you're doing/feeling about it all.

soon2banewme 25 Feb 2011
I agree with Angiemcc. I would make sure he is board certified and ask the doctors on real self why he would not have a pre-op appt. I feel the pre-op is very important. You can ask questions, double check you are both on the same page. That is when I was measured and fitted for my post surgical garments and photographed plus you get your pain medications and antibiotics if your doc prescribes them. Did your PS give a reason for no pre-op?
MsWhit 25 Feb 2011
I work with him in the OR so I know he is board certified and I've seen his work. He doesn't usually but he said I could come in anytime if I feel uncomfortable about anything. He listened to everything I said and wanted at the consultation so he's already ordered my implants and knows what I want as far as my tummy tuck.
soon2banewme 25 Feb 2011
That's awesome to have worked with him! Maybe he does everything he would have done in a pre-op on the day of surgery. Important thing is that you are confident in your decision! Plus he said you can call him anytime which is great too
MsWhit 25 Feb 2011
Yes. I talked to his office manager and she put me at ease. She even gave me her personal email address just in case of think of any other questions. His staff is amazing!
Fun In The Sun 25 Feb 2011
Good luck to you girl! You will be so happy with your results.
