I had CS done last Tuesday to ring in the New Year... what better motivation I thought????

- here is my experience 8 days in...

Day of:

1st two applicators attached upper abdomen and flanks...not bad going in and thought- "Piece of Cake!" Until the 1st flank came off and the post massage (which kills btw) wearing off of numbness was comparable to having one's most vulnerable skin waxed with a 3rd degree sunburn- EYOUCHH!!!

The next two areas were ok and 5 hr procedure was going fine until lower ab flab got sucked into the large applicators and I could feel the deep bruises developing... nothing I cant stand... i got this...
Then the submental chin treatment- this didnt hurt one itty bit but totally freaked me out with the Clockwork Orange contraption they stuck me in...at this point I still had the last lower ab flab in the machine so the pain and confinement made me kinda want to pull the contraption off my chin. My awesome tech came to the rescue and held it on my chin for 27 minutes until a "THERMAL EVENT" happened and we had to end the session because my tissue was getting too cold- better safe than sorry. Anyhow- not all lost... got comped some high end neck and face products as a result. He was great about everything and DID warn that I may be one of the few people who can experience nerve pain. As a result, he gave me a scrip for Gabapentin and told me not to use my usual Advil candy and opt for Tylenol instead because inflamation mea.s that those fat cells we just froze are dying off... Well, the appointment ended and I looked and felt like Tweedle Dee or Tweedle Dum (will decide which one when I see results) no biggy- I had errands to run, kids to taxi etc... and I knew which fat shirt to wear that day because no could tell that my tummy was any bigger thank God!!!

Well, fast forward to the next morning and my lower abs are bruised pretty bad, very sore and super swollen. Pain about a 4 at this point... figured out a stretchy pant outfit and off to work... Same the next day...although a couple little stingers??

Day 4- um.... OUCH- yup... nerve pain and this is weird... like your skin and tissue below is on fire and getting punched while the bees are stinging...fun stuff but not the muscle layer. Wearing sweats and still unbearably uncomfortable and in pain. Day five same thing BUT that night I get the added "no sleep" bonus- yea!!! Both days- pain at a 7 or 9- no fun!

Day 6- I suck it up and keep to my nerve pain meds only at night promise to myself to remain productive and alert land got some aspercreme with lidocaine and Arnicare gel for topical pain- much better- woo hoo! Pain at about a 6

Day 7- woke up with no pain but developed although to a lesser degree over the day. Still took nerve meds with a cpl glasses of wine and a zquill to get to sleep (Hey- desperate times call for equal measures) at night- dont judge!
Pain at end of day around that 6-7 mark again*sigh*

Day 8- I am here at work wearing some strategically unbuttoned slacks with a buttoned peacoat to look normal and professional. Pain between 4-5 and could button my pants although uncomfy after the 1st five hours...

Is this worth it? Well if the results come thru as hoped, then yes. The pain sucks... no lie! It isnt anything (for my personal experience) that prevented from daily life except for sloppy and rerun outfits.. I couldnt work out or run yet but everyday gets better. The bruising is down as well as some reduction in swelling... pain is less too. It does get better- I promise! To those of you in pain, I empathize... to those of you not in pain- its awesome for you and appreciate it... this is no joke!

Takeaways- get the Gabapentin scrip. It was 20 out of pocket and you already paid a ton for this so you may as well be prepared in case this nerve hell happens.

Get the arnicare or aspercreme- really helps! :-)

Stay positive- things will get better... and dont stress- Stress causes cortisol which causes belly fat...which defeats every reason why you got this done.

Wishing you all the best!
