50 Yrs Old, Breast Reduction for Neck and Shoulder Pain - Jackson, TN

15 months post op, was measured for my first underwire. While I was a 38C for the soft cup bras a few weeks after surgery, I have lost nearly 20 lbs now and am a 36D now. I have no complaints. I can wear a sport bra and mash the out well enough to run (never could do that before) and I can wear a regular underwire with the Demi cut and look sexy too. No push ups or padding needed :). I had wished they would be nearly flat. I'm glad now that they were not.

I realize there is more healing to do, some days they swell and harden a bit if I do too much, or ride in a bumpy vehicle too long, but I am already so happy with the new smaller me. One side is a little slower to soften up than the other, and the fact that my cleavage line coming from under the breasts was always asymmetrical may be more evident now, plus it have a touch of scoliosis that pitches my whole torso slightly to one side. But all of those things, that asymmetry, is ME! It always was me, and I didn't expect a PS to be able to change that. The larger breasts hid it a bit, but caused so much back, neck and shoulder pain. My next follow up appt will be at 18 weeks post op. The little separations I had underneath are all healed up, and things are looking great. I don't even need to use any scar sheets or anything. The scars are very smooth, just very pink, but like my other scars should fade out nicely in time.

I'll post updated photos later, but I am so happy with my progress and the results of the surgery in general. I'm a full B, small C and could not be happier. All of the places where I had the slight wound separation have healed up nicely. The pain in my shoulders and upper back is gone, my left arm isn't having the issues it used to and The only symptom left of the pinched nerve in my neck is when I put a lot of pressure with my thumb, and some muscle weakness/atrophy in my arm. Considering I couldn't hold onto a postcard with my left hand before, I think it's fabulous! I got the all clear to go back to the neurologist and have the steroid Injections in my neck that I hope will eliminate ALL of the symptoms of the bulging disks - permanently!

I know I'm still healing, the scars are still pink and my breasts may still settle some, but they are already feeling more normal. Very little hardness is left, they already have a beautiful natural appearance. Everything has evened out. The left side settled faster than the right, but now they are wonderfully symmetrical. Things really seemed to turn the corner for me about a week after I started taking prenatal vitamins in addition to making sure to get plenty of lean protein each day. Bromelain definitely helped with any swelling those first 4-5 weeks. Now I'm just having a little sensitivity over the ribs around the bottom and sides of my breasts in the evenings after a long day. My solution is to take off my sports bra and trade it for a shaper cami. It offers support without a lot of focused pressure on the ribcage.

Dr. Lin and his staff have been great, I love how friendly they all were and how his nurse made it clear that I could call her with any questions or concerns no matter how small. I'd go back to him in a heartbeat! My husband is considering a tummy tuck of his own (he recently lost 50lbs and isn't finished yet) with Dr. Lin.
