Today I went to see my surgeon and she took out the last drain. She said I can start wearing a compression garment and the tighter the better. I think I pushed myself too much today. I was going since 7 a.m. And didn't actually sit down till the kids went to bed at 8p.m. I can't do that again. I feel sick to my stomach. Definitely need to rest half way through the day. I go back next week for to check me out again. She gave me some over the counter antibiotic cream to massage into my scar every morning and evening. I have to admit that the scar line seems a bit high but the end result is what matters and that is that I will feel comfortable in my clothes. I don't wear bikinis anyway.

It's been a few days since my last update. Yesterday I was a bit down, I am begining to get tired of the last drain that i have in. The doctor took one out on monday and this one needs to stay in till Wednesday, she said it needs to be "bone dry" for her to take it out. She feels that it is very important not rush to take it out since the risk of infection is higher if you take the drains out too soon. Strange how some doctors don't even use drains. They don't hurt they are just annoying. FYI.. Hook them to lanyards and wear them around your neck that way they don't swing and hang. I was also able to see my belly button for the first time at the appointment. I love it but realized after one shower that it may be off centered. That really is bumming me out. I was told by a few people that it could be the swelling that is making it appear off. I don't think so, but we will see. I'm also realizing that I want my binder as tight as possible, where in the beginning I couldn't handle it being tight, now it feels good. I've slowed down on my pain meds and only really need them at night or when my tummy get tight from a spazm. It feel like when u have a contraction. Best way for me to describe it. I am loving having a shower chair. Half way through my shower I get tired. I am really ready to start feeling normal again. I want to be able to help out with the house and kids. I'm not acustome to sitting around. I'm posting pics from a few days ago since not much has changed except I'm more swollen.

Today was a much better day. My head is clear and no headaches. I also stopped taking so many meds all at once. I switched one of my pain meds to vicodine with Tylenol and I seem to responding much better to that. I keep the harder meds for late night. My back does hurt if I am walking around for more than ten minutes. My drains are not bothering me yet and I'm trying not to think about them since I will have them in till sept 4th. My doctor is a big fan of drains since they prevent swelling and infection. I'm am going to continue to stay at my parents house on their recliner for a fee more days. My husband and sister seem to have things under control.
