I am 42 and had two big babies 10 months apart when I was 35 and 36. I was overweight and lost 65 pounds about a year ago. My stomach has always been my problem area. I considered a breast lift (I am a DDD cup and gravity has them less than perky) but decided that's too much surgery for now. I figure I can reevaluate things after the tummy tuck. I went in for a consult about 2 weeks ago and am scheduled for surgery on April 12. I am excited and very nervous. I have never had any kind of surgery. I am a single mom who homeschools two first graders. My mom will be here to help afterwards but I am nervous about the recovery time possibly taking longer than anticipated. The surgeon will be doing an extended tummy tuck with lipo and muscle repair. I will have a pain pump inserted for the muscles because he said that is the most painful part for most people. It costs and extra $200 but it sounds well worth it to me. But I am super excited to not have a big belly. I don't have any before pics yet but I will post some.

Ok I am posting two before pictures. I can't wait to have after pictures to post! These horrify me. I have never taken a picture or seen a picture of my belly before.

I am thinking about getting my upper arms and possibly my thighs done too. But as with my breasts, I will wait until after I see how the tummy surgery goes.

I have been slacking on my workouts over the past three months due to various reasons (or excuses). I had originally lost 85 ponds but put 20 back on. I can really see and feel a difference. I may try to lose it again before surgery.

I just had to postpone my surgery until June 7. My grandfather passed away and my grandmother moved to an assisted living facility so I have to clear out their house which will probably take through the end of April. I'm a bit disappointed because I am nervous and want to get the surgery overwith. But on a positive note I will use the extra time to consult with two surgeons in the Baltimore area as well.
