I am 42 and had two big babies 10 months apart when I was 35 and 36. I was overweight and lost 65 pounds about a year ago. My stomach has always been my problem area. I considered a breast lift (I am a DDD cup and gravity has them less than perky) but decided that's too much surgery for now. I figure I can reevaluate things after the tummy tuck.
I went in for a consult about 2 weeks ago and am scheduled for surgery on April 12. I am excited and very nervous. I have never had any kind of surgery. I am a single mom who homeschools two first graders. My mom will be here to help afterwards but I am nervous about the recovery time possibly taking longer than anticipated.
The surgeon will be doing an extended tummy tuck with lipo and muscle repair. I will have a pain pump inserted for the muscles because he said that is the most painful part for most people. It costs and extra $200 but it sounds well worth it to me. But I am super excited to not have a big belly. I don't have any before pics yet but I will post some.

Ok I am posting two before pictures. I can't wait to have after pictures to post! These horrify me. I have never taken a picture or seen a picture of my belly before.
I am thinking about getting my upper arms and possibly my thighs done too. But as with my breasts, I will wait until after I see how the tummy surgery goes.
I have been slacking on my workouts over the past three months due to various reasons (or excuses). I had originally lost 85 ponds but put 20 back on. I can really see and feel a difference. I may try to lose it again before surgery.

I just had to postpone my surgery until June 7. My grandfather passed away and my grandmother moved to an assisted living facility so I have to clear out their house which will probably take through the end of April. I'm a bit disappointed because I am nervous and want to get the surgery overwith. But on a positive note I will use the extra time to consult with two surgeons in the Baltimore area as well.

I postponed surgery again. I decided I didn't want to mess up the summer for my kids by recovering. I am consulting with a couple more surgeons ans hope to be scheduled in September.

I went for my pre op appointment today. I paid my balance (ouch!) and signed all the form. I'm trying not to let the pages of possible complication freak me out. I am nervous but mostly excited. I can't wait to post my after pictures.

The day after tomorrow I will finally be having my tummy tuck. I am sooo excited and nervous too. I'm trying to get all the laundry and housework and grocery shopping done so that I can take it easy next week. My best friend will be here until Sunday night and my mom until Wednesday morning. Then it just me and the kids.

Well, today is finally my surgery day. Ready or not. I have things ready to go and my ride is on her way to pick me up. I just need to take my shower and get dressed. I am excited but also very nervous. I haven't had surgery since I was a teenager and I don't know what to expect. I am mostly worried about the pain afterwards. I can't wait to be able to post after photos though.

I had my surgery on October 12. I had a decent weekend. Monday night I was in agony and went to the ER. Had a blood transfusion and CT scan. I had a hematoma which required a second surgery on Wednesday with an overnight in the hospital. I am swollen beyond belief, my back is killing me, I am coughing, and I can barely breathe. I tend to be a positive person but right now I REALLY regret having this surgery.

I am feeling much better. My right drain has been removed. I still have a TON of swelling and my back still gets tired very quickly. I am getting around pretty well, drove the one hour to my appointment on Friday, went out to eat last night. I'm still not sure if my result are good enough to say I think this was worth it though. I will have to wait and see after the swelling subsides. I do know I will not be having any more surgeries. I was considering a breast lift and maybe some arm and thigh work but after this recovery I have decided against all of them.

I am feeling MUCH better. I still have lots of swelling as you can see in the new picture but I am happy with the results so far. I know when the swelling goes down I will be pleased. I can't wait to get back to the gym to tone up everything else. Because of the hematoma and second surgery I was pretty certain I would not have any more procedures but I think after I am fully recovered I will consider a butt lift, and possibly get my arms done. I have definitely decided against getting anything done to my breasts.
