I never thought of myself as the plastic surgery...

I never thought of myself as the plastic surgery type of gal. But there was no denying my chest needed some help after b-feeding 2 babies. I was nearing my 40th birthday and decided not to care what everyone thought and to do something to take care of myself. Dr. Stratis and his entire staff were absolutely wonderful, professional, understanding, and respectful. The consultation was not as awkward as I had imagined. We discussed what my goals were for surgery, and Dr. Stratis was very realistic in his plan. He took time to answer all my questions.
Of course I was nervous for surgery, but it went very smoothly, as Dr. Stratis has considerable experience. I trusted him to deliver excellent results, and that is what I got.
The post-op healing process was painful for sure, especially the first 24-48 hours. I am not going to lie. It hurts. Badly. But months before, I committed to chaperone my older son's camping trip the following week. I talked to Dr. Stratis beforehand, and was seen in the office for a post-op check up. He told me everything looked great and gave me the go-ahead to do anything that I felt well enough to do. I felt well enough to chaperone the kids' trip. And I actually was swimming in the pool 10 days after surgery. (This is probably not typically recommended, but I am a fast healer, and I try to stay active.) Fourteen days after surgery, I passed the swim test so that I could assist to instruct the kids' waterfront activities. I was sore, but I did not overdo it. I did not push my body to the breaking point, and was able to perform at a moderate level of effort.

A year later, I feel great. The scars itch sometimes, but that is all I notice. I feel as if these were my breasts all along. I do not feel any different as a person. I never had that urge to take a hundred selfies or become a supermodel afterwards --- I'm a grown-up mom of 2, for crying out loud! But I am extremely thankful for my surgery because for the first time in my life, I feel that my outward appearance matches the beauty I know I possess on the inside.

Motherhood takes a lot out of us, ladies. If you feel that you need help getting your body back into balance, do not feel ashamed. Ask for a consultation just to sit down and talk. Then go from there. Take it one step at a time, and you'll be surprised how different your life will be a year from now.

Dr. Stratis was everything I hoped he would be: professional, understanding, non-judgemental, respectful. He saw the potential in my body, even when I could not see it myself, and he skillfully created a fabulous result.
