Having had heavy jowls, which were beginning to make me look very old and sad, I decided to spend some money on myself for a change as I wanted to look as young as I felt inside and wanted to be greeted by people with more enthusiasm - I felt always I had to smile constantly to stop myself looking so sad and serious! So I found Dominic Bray and having read up on him and met him for a consultation, I proceeded to surgery. I was extremely nervous and worried about the whole thing, never having had an operation before and although I had found someone who could do this face lift surgery under local anaesthetic, I felt ill for the whole time I was waiting to have the surgery but meeting Dominic, he reassured me I was perfectly well and my symptoms were psychosomatic (induced by mind over matter). So with the help of his lovely supportive PA Lucy, who was contacting me even over the weekend to make sure I was ok, I finally had my 4 hour procedure. I can only say that after the pre-med and sedation, the whole experience was relaxing and pain free. I just heard music playing and can remember chatting and laughing with Dominic and his team, with Miles the anaesthetist keeping an eye on my sedation. I sailed through the whole thing and was allowed to go down to the Marylebone Hotel accompanied by my excited daughter, just an hour after surgery. Dominic was clear with his instructions, given to both me and my daugher. The next day it was back to the Consulting Rooms for a wash and blow dry and some heat applied to my face to start the healing process. All this was carried out in a professional way with great care and enthusiasm. I felt relieved it was all over and I needn't have worried so much - it was all very easy to go through.

From the first time I saw Dr Dominic Bray one hot sunny morning in August, I was impressed by his warmth and enthusiasm for his job - he told me exactly what surgery he could perform on my face, how much it would cost and how it could be achieved. Everything was carefully explained, including the personal aftercare which Dominic is quick to point out is undertaken always by him in person. I was not pressurised in the least and encouraged to go and see other consultants and compare. I booked for the procedure and his lovely PA Lucy and Secretary Kikki were extremely professional, sympathetic and helpful, especially when I nearly pulled out due to nerves and psychosomatic symptoms. But I needn't have worried as I sailed through the four hour surgery with the help of Dominic and his team, who put me at my ease, playing soft music and chatting away lightheartedly during the procedure. I was given every care and attention and even a few hours later received a visit at the Hotel, where I was staying overnight, from Dominic to change the bandage and check on my progress. He has the greatest sense of humour and is courteous and helpful. He genuinely cares about how you feel and listens to each and every worry you might have, answering all your questions. Dominic must be one of the most laid-back and easygoing surgeons you will every come across, but this hides his great surgical skills; I have practically no scars at all round my ears, and this was from week 3 post op. I can't recommend Dominic highly enough. He is a true genius and you can feel safe in the knowledge he knows exactly what you want for your face and he can achieve it.
