Step 3 of 16

I had my second 6 week visit and started aligners 3A three weeks ago, and also had the engagers applied at that same appointment. These engagers will be on until the I'm completed with treatment, which currently is expected to be October 2015, so 11 months total. (At my consultation to discuss which treatment methods were available to me I was told 6-9 months for ClearCorrect treatment...but I understand that was solely a guess. Oh well.) I was asked to take the new aligners in and out a few times at that appointment, to ensure the engagers stayed attached - which at the appointment, they did. I asked the orthodontist how often people experience these engagers popping off, and I was told he's not had it happen before...
But.... As soon as I left the office and got to work, I removed the aligners for lunch, and one of those engagers came off with the bottom aligner. Grrr! I made another appointment to have it reattached, and even at the second appointment it took two attempts to make the engager "stick" to that tooth. So far, it hasn't come off again. Fingers crossed.
I've started to notice some gaps forming and movement taking place, which is exciting!

Step 2 of 16

First full day wearing my second active set of aligners. Can't remember if these are called 1B or 2B...something like that. Chewies have been very helpful, and not nearly as much pressure/discomfort as the last set. The bottom aligner is a little long in the front, which is irritating my gums, and is especially painful when removing the tray. I have an appt with my ortho in about an hour to have him take a look at it. I'm hoping he'll be able to trim it down a bit.
No real complaints with this process so far! I use an effervescent denture soak for my trays about every other day, it keeps them crystal clear and looking brand new.

i had 4 years of ortho treatment as a young teenager - traditional wire braces, expanders, herpst appliances, and retainers - the whole getup. 10 years post losing my retainers, my teeth shifted back to what they looked like pre-treatment. After many years of being self conscious and unhappy with my smile, I looked into clearcorrect. I have a career requiring a lot of presentation time and face to face meetings, so I wanted to avoid train tracks brace face at this point in my life. While my ortho did tell me up front he prefers wire braces as treatment is controlled by him, he did say he's had patients with successful clearcorrect treatments. I received my first set of active trays November 12. I do have a bit of discomfort and soreness, but I hope that just means these chompers are moving! And back to where they used to be so long ago...
I've attached 'before' pictures here, and plan to update this review with each set of new aligners. I know reading other users reviews were helpful for me when deciding which ortho treatment route to take!
