The "Big Day" has come and gone!

So, i finally feel confident and comfy! even with stitches and blood i feel much happier about my appreance in a whole! no more chaffing, pulling, snagging, or embaresment!
The day of my surgery 6/18/2015 i arrived at the hospital at 10:45 like instructed by my doctor. i was quickly changed into my gown and hooked up on my IV. while waiting to be rolled up to the OR i laid around and watched some TV while the anticipation built higher and higher! in the midst of waiting i did notice my gown they had gave me was allowed to be hooked up to a machine so it could be heated once you awoke from surgery.. thought it was pretty nifty! around 1:00 my nurse came to roll me up to holding.. i took one last bathroom break before surgery and as i was using the bathroom i felt releived itd be the last time id have to see my enlarged labia. my nurse then rolled me up to holding where the then gave me medicine in my IV to calm any anxiety and some antibiotics. before i went into the OR my docotr went over the procedure one last time.

My nurse then wheeled me into the OR at 1:30. Everything seemed so hectic! nurses were rushing around setting everything up, i had nurses strap my arms and waist down then another Nurse put an oxygen mask over my mouth and nose and told me to take a few deep breathes (without my knowledge i had already been sedated) next thing i know im waking up in recovery and the first the first thing i felt was the stinging and throbbing and the first thing i thought was "theyre really gone!" i then began to cry out of happiness as my nurse looked at me like i was weirdo haha i caught a glimpse of the clock behind the nurse and realized it was only 2:15. after checking my vitals a few times, and providing me with some pain medication, i was then wheeled back to my original room where i took a quick 30 minute nap. I then drank a fruit punch gatorade and had to use the bathroom before i could be released. all said and done i left the hospital at 3:15pm after recieving all the care info and my perscription.

since leaving the hospital my days have consisted of 1 hydrocodone every 4 hours and alot of laying around and sleep. i can already tell recovery is going to be fast for me! all though im still sore and sensitive im much more mobile then i thought i would be for being 2 days post op!

less then 24 hours!

Today I went to the hospital for pre-op info, lab work, and pre registered for tomorrow. Ive been informed I will be put under General anesthetic which rises some nervousness because I never have been under general anesthesia. Buttt im all showered and cleaned up. No eating after 12 am and will arrive at the hospital at 10:30am! Will definitely update once I get home and wake up a little bit!

Pre-op and procedure date has been moved up!!

i have just gotten off the phone with nurse at my doctor's office and my pre-op and procedure have been bumped up to the 17th and 18th!! i cant beleive how quickly this day has approached! i know theses next few days are going to drag out but the nervousness is definetly gone and im so ready for this!

Provider Review

Bennett R. Alan MD

so far the procedure has not been performed, but Dr. Bennett has high hopes insurance will cover it which was my biggest fear. He assured me he has done plenty and very few insurances had a problem covering it. he is a very gentle and understanding man and i would reccomend Gallatins women center in Gallatin TN (Dr. Bennett) to anyone who is curious in this procedure!
