Worth It
Spent: $600 in Istanbul, Turkey

Hello everybody!

Today is very important day for me.Because I had 1 treatment of 4 or 5  fraxel restore treatment.

It was very hard decision for me .The rewievs were very different each other, and this was the skin on your face that you looks everytime everywhere, and  to everybody,You can not hide it in any cover.

I have acne scarring for years .I'm 37 years old .Actually I have never had acne problem until my 21 years old but when I got deep stress, I had them all  in a day.I was shocked and from that day untill now I had to live with  huge acnes all over my face  and acne scarring problem.

so, I m going to load my pictures before and after step by step. You are going to see with me what is going on to my face with fraxel restore :) I dont know what will happen,

let's see together.

this picture is taken before 3 day  fraxel restore(rıght side of my face)

this is left sıde of my face before fraxel restore

after 2 hours first treatment(left sıde)

after 2 hours first treatment (right side)

so, first day experience was good .No pain, no bad reaction such as itching etc.

my face is little bit red and  little swallowed. You see at the picture was taken after 2 hours first therapy.

no fear  till now:)

I thougt it would be very painful but no..see you next treatment  on April 3

I hope this sharing will be useful for you

see you ...

Good luck and keep us updated with your results. I had my 3rd fraxel restore just a few days ago, a little more redness this time and a little more swelling. A little more discomfort but not really painful, the highest setting was used this time, since this is my 3rd treatment. I will decide after my 4th treatment whether I want to pursue 2 additional follow-ups. I know it takes time to see results and for new collagen to re-build, be patient, which is hard sometimes because we like instant results. Good luck!

Hi fitness lady, I wish you good luck and best results with your treatments. My doc said that next time she was going to set higher, I'll load my before and after pictures for my next treatment again. When I went the clinic for asking about fraxel, she said that she couldn't say certain result like %60-%90 etc. but she had patient who got improvements between %10-%90 results.some of them improved %10 , some of them %90 or others.I understand , it depends on of my skin response and reaction and I believe this treatment is not a miracle. You are right, we must be patient and see the results. You are going to see b&a pictures of my skin for next treatments (on April 3th,I'll load new ones). let'see together what fr/restore does on acne scarring:) good luck for everyone.

Thanks for sharing. I have very old acne scars on my cheeks and nose and have scheduled my first fraxel restore treament for the end of this month and I want to make sure it goes as well as yours. Can you tell me if you or fitnesslady used anything prior to getting the laser? any type of bleaching cream?

Update, I woke up this morning, eyes still a little puffy and I'm a little concerned about some blistering in a couple of spots. The setting were turned up to 70% this time, quite a difference. I was told to expect more redness and a little more discomfort this time though. I'll keep you updated but you will continue to see progress. It's not easy dealing with acne scarring and I know this isn't a cure but it sure makes you feel a lot better about your appearance!

My skin is looking soooo smooth, even better than the first 2 treatments, I'm thinking I may not need to go beyond a 5th treatment if that! I just want to see more of an improvement along the temple are, where I have some icepick scars that I usually cover with brushing my hair down but I know they are there and want them to be less noticeable! Continue to keep me updated!

i am wondering if you know what settings they are using on you? mine was 56 millijoules (mj) over most of my face, but 79 mj on the 2 deepest scars. I beleive it was a Level 7. Mine was painful (but I was able to tolerate). You said yours was not painful? What did they give you to make it more comfortable?
Fitness Lady (86 posts) 19 Mar 2009
I was given valium for pain! You know I can relate so much to everyone who has ever suffered from acne/acne scarring it really affects how you feel about yourself. I'm feeling so much better now and I hope to continue to see more improvements in the future with this treatment!

hi, I couldn't have come to write for a while ,sorry. You asked my settings, I'not sure but I think , she said there were mainly 4 levels, she began with first degree of 4th level. she is going to apply higher next time Also, you asked about my pain. I felt very little pain like warm ironing on my face, actually I liked it.I felt it was face massage but my doc said some people found it painfull. Thank you for all your good comments. They have made me happier. I'll post my new pictures after my seconde treatment.(aprox.after 20 days) see you soon..

You results look great thus far..I'm excited to see your results... The laser really improves the tone and color irregularities at first because it coagulates blood vessels as well.... My skin looked nice at first.... Make sure you keep the circulation going in your face it carries nutriants and oxygen to the cells so they can repair... I wonder if the coagulated vessels or to many of them cause some of the bad reactions that appear later...It can't hurt to increase the circulation... TNS recovery serum will dramaticly improve results you should consider a bottle..It is nothing short of amazing...for healing Good luck and Thank you for sharing It will be nice to see a good result

hi awalk, thank you very much for your advices, I'll try to find TNS recovery serum. When I read your comments about your treatments I 've felt very sad.But you are still very beautiful woman. In my opinion your skin's going to get better with time. I tried chemical peeling 5 years ago.My skin was terrific after peeling, different colour, brown spots everywhere and my face turned like wearing brown musk. I couldn't go out for a while.I thought ?t wouldn't get better never and ever.but, it has been better with time. It lasted at least 1 year.My skin has been better slowly. I hope you will be good with time Awalk. Good luck to you

It would be really good to use at first with fraxel... Also they sell rechargeable pore cleansers that have mild suction they can help pull out impurites without scrubbing and improve circulation for healing..They cost about $30.00 Panasonic makes one... Good luck with your treatment... I was a little confused as to your results with the peeling....Did it turn out well or did you have side effects problems for a year?? Either way you should let your doctor know how you reacted... Don't let them do too many passes in one session.... I wonder if this is what happened to me..Coagulating to many vessels so I didn't have blood flow to areas=cell death the indentions I now have.... Or not enough cooling between passes... Also it seems with each pass the laser overlapped it would go much deeper than intended over an area that already had a hole/MTZ They did normal settings but 8 passes Consider getting the ice pick scars spot treated before/between your whole face session..... This will reduce risk and give you extra treatments on the areas that are already damaged.... Since you paid for the whole face..You could divide one session into several for spot treatment.. This would also be a way to test how your skin is going to react to the higher setting on each session before they do your whole face.... Reducing the risk for you to only the area that is already damaged and giving you more intense treatment to the areas you need it most... You have no wrinkles at all...No crows feet ect..So the skin that is not scarred is perfect... Why subject it to as many treatments as the scars.... Can't wait to see if this works for you.... Acne scarring is a hard thing to deal with,,Looking at the rest of your skin it looks wonderfulI don't see one wrinkle you must have good genes and take care of yourself..... If you are on antibiotics for current acne keep in mind they can make you more sucsepticle to a fungal infection/viral infection... Be careful using family towels ect keep your own that are washed in very hot water...And dry your face with paper towels the first few days... It's a shame this technology is being misused by some.. I can't wait to see your final result.. I will be cheering for your success... Let your doctor know what you are doing and print your page and take it to him.... If things go well..It's a great referal for him and you may get extra care and attention or a discount...He couldn't ask for better advertising if the results are good.... People need to know who the good providers are with experience..!!

I do Fraxel restore for all my patients. I only do patients with lighter skin tones. All my patients are very happy and pleased. Their are times that i have to do a 5th treatment. Most patients do series of 4. No burns or problems thankfully.
Fitness Lady (86 posts) 23 Apr 2009
How are you doing now! How many treatments have you had so far! I'm having my 4th Fraxel treatment next week!
MatildaRupert (1 post) 28 Apr 2009
Wow! I'm impressed with your skin's texture in the most recent pic post. I hope all is going well with your subsequent treatments. Please post follow-up pics. I'm eager to see your progress. I'm getting ready to try Fraxel Re:Store in the upcoming month. I'm excited about the prospect of improving my skin.

Hi:) Have you had another treatment yet?
Yosemite Mel (unregistered guest) 5 Jun 2009
Just spoke with doctor for the first time this past week to ask questions about the procedure. I was told a "dental" block (mouth injections) would be part of the process. Did anyone else deal with this?
cathy06 (unregistered guest) 6 Jun 2009
My question is for Dr. Cohen. I am very interested in the fraxel procedure for my acne scarring. But you said you only do this for lighter patients? I am asian. What's the risk and is there a safe way I can get one?
newy2k (1 post) 14 Jun 2009
I'm also of Asian descend, I've been talking to several Spa-Clinics; though only actually spoke with one Physician (others were either PA or Nurses). All advised that I shouldn't have Fraxel repair but Fraxel restore is a better choice, but none mentioned any risks involved i.e. post hyperpigmentation that I read so much about?...Cathy06, I can't wait to hear what Dr. Cohen has to say about Asian skin??

Hi, Are you done with your treatments yet, how's your results??? I did 3 fraxel-restore treatments, saw some improvement but not totally pleased with my overall results, will be doing a Fraxel Repair either next month or the Fall.
