59 Year Old Female Extremely Pleased with "New Eyes"!

I was tired of having people tell me I looked tired when I wasn't tired at all. My upper lids were sagging and my eyes looked sad and tired. The skin below my lower lids had some wrinkles and crepiness. After thinking about getting an upper bleph for over 5 years,  I finally decided to do something about it. My fear of a possible bad outcome and going under anesthesia is what kept holding me back. Based on my research, I knew I wanted to see an oculoplastic surgeon rather than a general plastic surgeon because an oculoplastic surgeon specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyes.  Dr. David Felder was highly recommended by other health care professionals and it is easy to understand why! He is not only an excellent surgeon and a true artist, but he is also kind, caring, warm and personable. His staff is wonderful as well. From my first phone conversation with Karen, the receptionist,  I was impressed with the office. She was warm and friendly, yet very professional. That first impression is so important. The surgical coordinator, Sandy, is awesome. She was very organized and went over everything thoroughly so there were no surprises. I was nervous about having the surgery and she was very reassuring and understanding. Everyone in this office is very warm, knowledgeable and kind.

I had my upper blepharoplasty and CO2 fractional laser under my eyes in October. When I went in for the procedure Dr. Felder's calm reassuring demeaner helped me to stay as calm as reasonably possible. The office staff and anesthesia team were reassuring as well. I had IV sedation for the procedure. I remember having the IV put in and it seemed only seconds later I was waking up and feeling fine. The recovery was a breeze. I have a fair complexion  and bruise very easily, but was pleasantly suprised when I had no bruising at all. I had no pain either, other than a headache for a few days, which was controlled with Tylenol. I had swelling around my eyes, but nothing near what I expected.

I am so thrilled with the results! I'm very happy with the shape of my eyes and the fact that I now have visible eyelids. My eyes look very natural, younger and refreshed.  For the first time in a very long time I am happy with what I see in the mirror.  I've even had people give me compliments on my eyes. Having the upper bleph done has really given me a boost of confidence.

In addition to my upper blepharoplasty, I recently had Voluma (filler) injected into the apples of my cheeks to give my face a subtle lift and also had Botox injected for my crows feet and the vertical lines between my eyes. (Please note that the fee above reflects only the cost of the upper blepharoplasty.) Dr. Felder performed these procedures (not a PA or nurse practitioner) and he carefully analyzed my face before doing anything. When he injected me with the filler and Botox I felt next to nothing and had no bruising.  I could not be happier with the results.
