9 days post Op - just my 2 cents

Morning fellow RS followers.

I am 9 days post op. Drains out is great. I still can't fully bath until dec 24 - driving me bonkers. I'm off meds, sore but doing good. I find myself naturally trying to grab things when something drops, like at store or car, and boy that quick flinch zaps me. I thought I had posted Monday but maybe it didn't. Follow up at one week was great. Tube removed. Weirdest sensation ever. Burned like a mother for a short few seconds. But no biggie. Switched to a different body shaper cause other one was a little tight. I think pulling that thing up and down is the worst part of all. Tight and applied pressure on areas that feel bruised and sore. Honestly I have help each time.
Dr confirmed that 5lbs was removed. I did have full muscle repair. And dr did great job explaining "what he did". Love my surgeon. Again, he confirmed that I was a great patient with easy anesthesia, went into sx easy and came out easy. I feel very fortunate. He is happy with results, so I'm trusting him. I guess I popped a stitch in my belly button, do it looks nasty. Just gonna wait and let it heal. He said he wasn't worried about it.
I started my cycle yesterday so opted to go back to wearing my shaper that used last week with crouch cut out - more convenient.
At this point I only have one concern or hope... My sides/hip areas are still pudgy looking. I hope that it decreases with swelling. I talked to dr and it is still swollen, so time will tell. Pics attached were taken yesterday.

Alls well and 2 days till Xmas - merry Christmas!

Lastly, couple issues were in my mind today that I felt were worthy of sharing.
1. Realistic expectations. So I've had to remind myself, that surgery, whether BA, TT or lipo, I am still me... Meaning I'm 5'9" 199 lbs and so the dr (as good as he is) can't make me look like a model with a different body. And we all have a unique shape so results are gonna vary.
2. Other body parts. I can't have surgery to fix every inch of my body. I need to get off my butt and make exercise a priority after I'm released to work out. Had I exercised before surgery I would have looked do much better. Fact of life. (I need some major inner thigh and buttock work outs). I always want to turn to surgery but gotta stop.
3. Healing. We all recover so so differently. It is so helpful to hear and read others experience, gives some insight of what to potentially expect. However, I was lucky and having super easy good recovery. I had scared myself going into surgery and it has been way easier. If you have tough time with meds, it's gonna be rough. If you have high tolerance, discuss with dr a better med. And the more you have done, the harder. I did BA separate from TT and lipo. I would NOT want to do both together. Again, my experience and personal opinion. Having my arms and chest not sore definitely nice with the TT recovery.
4. Recovery time. Now on flip side recovery time seems consistent with all of us TT patients. I am 9 days post op and I am off pain meds, move around (cautiously and a little
Slower), but I am sore like a bruise. I can't lift anything heavy. Still need some help at times. I started coughing last night and it made me very sore. I would not want to have to return to a full time job yet, just because I wear out easily and body still feels like in recovery mode. If me, I would recommend 2 full weeks of RandR.

Would I do it again - 100% yes. BA TT and lipo, all worth it to me if makes me feel better. We are not all blessed with those body's that can have pregnancies without stretch marks and a metabolism that actually works. Go girl! If you want it ... Do it!

5 days post TT

So my friend came over today and helped me take a peak. Pulling the nylon shaper down wasn't fun. I just felt bruised. But surprisingly enough I'm hardly bruised at all.
My incisions aren't wet or oozing, which is good (I think). My right side incision seems a little red around it.

I still feel "Big" and puffy. I pray it's mainly swelling and going to slowly go away. (Fingers crossed)
My skin below my belly button felt very tight. But my skin on my hips and above my belly button feel pudgy like chub. We will see.

Finally today caved in and weighed myself. 200 lbs. urgh

And decided needed help to poo so took a ducalax. Find that I'm getting a slight Headache throughout the day. Seems to be in my neck and head. Not sure if from slacking on meds or maybe from sleeping in recliner and slouching a little.

Other than that, all is going well.

3 day post op

Went In today for check up. Drain stayed in but was able to have foam and wrap removed, was put in the nice tight shaper. Opted to have crouch cut out to let me use bathroom easier for now. Pee that is. I haven't pooped yet. I'm not worried about that yet. Definitely started to get a
Little discouraged today when I saw myself naked. Very swollen and didn't look as good as it did the day after surgery.
Had to give myself a pep talk that I'm
Swollen and to just be patient.
I am still not needing to be all hunched. Nurse confirmed today that I didn't have a lot of muscle repair, so that would explain that.
I'm excited to see and talk to dr on Monday. I'm full of questions and like details re surgery. Can't help it, just the way I am.
