Lost 5 lbs

I went to see the nurse today and got my weigh in with her. I lost 5 lbs. Now the hold up is because my primary doctor's office hasn't sent in my last five year weight summary. I called primary doctor's office and spoke to the nurse and she said she would fax it over today. Once they receive it they will send paperwork to insurance and wait for approval. Gee! I hope there's no more hold ups and they get that paperwork in already. So discouraging! I am very happy I lost 5 lbs and trying my best to stay positive.

I am 52 years old. I weight 218 lbs. I used to be a model for many years from the age of 16 - 25. I exercised all the time. Started gaining weight after the death of my brother in 1992. Steadily continued gaining since then. I have all kinds of illnesses, diabetes, sleep apnea, arthritis, asthma, acid reflux, neuropathy, high blood pressure and a few other illnesses. I am looking forward to not having to take insulin anymore. Currently I have to take up to 12 pills per day. I have to inject 4 times a day with insulin. I have about 5 more meds I have to take as needed. I've decided to take control of my life and have gastric bypass. I've been told that I should just try and lose it on my own since I'm not in the weight group lots of patience are in when they decide to have the Gastric Bypass. This makes me feel ashamed at times. I have tried lots diets and exercise programs with no success. I'm tired of being tired and short of breath... not being able to enjoy doing things I would love to do with my grandchildren. Like bike riding, playing basketball and just running with them. Doctor did agree to do surgery for health reasons only. I'm coming up to my last appointment on October 20, 2014. Surgery will be scheduled after this appointment. I am now getting nervous and having a hard time sleeping. I've heard a lot about the dumping after surgery. This is scaring me a lot. But, I can't wait to feel and look healthy again.
