Day 3 post op

Focusing on eating at least 20g of protein with every meal and drinking at least 100 ounces of water per day. Foods that I'm glad I bought or prepped the day before surgery:
Fresh pineapple and low fat cottage cheese
Steel cut oatmeal with egg whites, protein granola bar and flavored Greek yogurt
Hard boiled eggs
Posole (pork and hominy stew)
Rotisserie chicken
Protein shakes
Green smoothies
Protein bars
Kombucha

Getting stronger every day and feeling more alert. I'm able to get out of the recliner by myself which is nice. Pooped last night - thank goodness! Overall pain is at a 1/10. My doctor gave me Exparel during surgery and I really think that is helping, also not having muscle repair is probably making recovery less painful. Taking anti-inflammatory and antibiotic meds and blood thinning shot still. Don't feel like I need Tylenol anymore.

Boobs feel warm/hot to the touch. Wondering if this is normal? My drain is starting to bug me but is still filling up so I don't think it will come out anytime soon. The color is lighter so I think I'm on the right track.

I get up, walk around my house and go to the bathroom every 1-2 hours or so (100 oz of water will do that to you!). Doing arm circles and breathing into an apparatus to keep my lungs clear. Sleeping well in a recliner with the aid of five pillows and a travel neck pillow. Binge watching Netflix and trying to let time do it's thing.

Day 2 post op

Feeling good! I'm able to stand pretty straight. Pain has been very tolerable. Just taking some anti-inflammatory medicine, antibotics, and daily shot for blood thinking (I think!) Adding in some over the counter stool softener for when nature calls. I've been able to sleep well. Took a shower today which felt great. I'm happy with how my boobs look and will like them even more when they settle down. I think I will like my tummy too, even though it wasn't discussed prior to surgery with me. I don't have a scar around my belly button or any vertical line which is great. And my incision is quite low and looks very straight. I hope I will be happy with it once the swelling goes down.

I did it

I wasn't sure if I would go through with it, but here we are now. The surgery went well, however, the doctor called my husband and told him I would be getting something different than what we planned on pre op for my tummy. I haven't taken off my binder (which just looks like Spanx), but very nervous about what it will look like. I have a post op appointment tomorrow so I suspect I'll be able to see it then. Fingers crossed it will look good. That was the entire reason for doing this!
As for the pain, I'm feeling really good! Haven't taken anything besides my meds prior to surgery. They did give me a slow releasing med (Exparel) during surgery, that should last for three days though so I bet that is helping.
I meal prepped the day before my surgery so I would have lots of healthy, low sodium meals. I mostly slept for the entire day and drank loads of water. At around 8pm I was getting hungry so I had some lean ground beef + peas and large Jamba Juice today.
