Almost 6 weeks post op and loving it! - Dolthan, AL

After reading several stories on here I finally decided to make my own account. I elected to have my 2 boys young and now my body is paying for it. On April 1, 2013 I will undergo a breast lift with silicone implants as the first big step in getting my body back. I have severe sagging that is supposedly hereditary.

I'm 5'3", 118 pounds and I'm currently a 36 C, I'm hoping to go up at least 1 full cup size but I was told because of my skin elasticity that going much larger then that would not be the best idea. I'm currently a full time student so I will only be taking 1 week off. I'm hoping the recovery is not to awful but I've seen my mom do this procedure and I know it won't be a walk in the park. I'm incredibly nervous already but thank goodness I have school to keep my mind occupied until my procedure.

I can't believe I'm only 18 days away from doing this! My mom has her plane ticket to come down and help with the kids and I'm slowly getting prepared. I bought 3 of the danskin bras that zip in the front at Walmart for $12 a piece. I read some other reviews and saw some good reviews on those bras so I snagged some. I officially have to pay off my surgery this Monday. Ah! I'm putting $3000 on a care credit card and $3000 from my savings. I'm getting more nervous by the day!

Holy cow surgery is paid off! It's officially starting to feel real now. Only 2 more weeks. Ahhhh!

Omg only 7 more days! Can anyone tell me about Bromelain the vitamin? I've heard it helps with post op pain, and swelling.

Thank god for other things keeping me busy or I'd be having a total panic attack lol. I finished my school exams, my birthday is tomorrow, Easter is sunday and surgery is Monday morning. AHHHH.

I'm beyond the point of nerves. I feel like I'm going to go in for surgery and not wake up leaving my 3 and 1 year old without a mom, all for vanity. Tomorrow is Easter and I'm trying super hard to just focus my mind on that but it's nearly impossible. Somebody please tell me this is going to be worth it!

Thank you everyone for your kind words. Today is the day. It's almost 4am here and I'm about to get up and get myself ready since we have to be at the hospital at 5am. We took the 2.5 hour drive up last night and I'm pretty sure I only slept about an hour all night, so I'm pretty tired....and hungry since I haven't eaten since about 930pm. Wish me luck ladies ill update when I can. And good luck to my other breast buddy southerngal who is also having surgery this morning!

Surgery went well but I'm in a ton of pain. My chest feels so heavy and I can hardly move my arms without causing terrible muscle spams. Even breathing is really hurting. He ended up doing 450cc!! Which is crazy because I had bigger boobs at the start of this, so they are massive right now especially with swelling. Eyes are getting heavy, ill try to post later. Pictures will take a few days because they are all covered up.

So I had my follow up today and actually found out he only did the areolar lift instead of the anchor which is nice. I also got refunded $1350 which was awesome too. The pain and swelling are pretty awful today but at least I was able to take a shower. I've been icing them pretty much 24/7 to try and bring the swelling down.

So today has not been good, my back hurts from laying on it so much and I'm still so incredibly swollen that one of my nipples started dripping blood because the skin is pulled so tight. I have terrible nausea and I cant remember the last bowel movement I had either so my gut hurts. I'm just ready to feel better. This sucks.

Today has been a little better, I was able to get up and go for a drive with my mom but the car ride made me feel a little sick. Hopefully each day continues to get a little better.

So today was the first full day of doing stuff, we took the kids to the zoo and had a good time. I took my muscle relaxer and some tylenol before going and I was fine. I'm home and little sore now so I'll probably take some meds tonight but I've pretty much weaned off of my hydrocodone and switched to tylenol. I only take it at night and in the morning if I'm hurting. I still have some bruising and swelling but its getting better. Overall I'm incredibly happy with how everything has turned out. Recovery has been much better then I expected. I go back to school on monday so hopefully its not too much of a struggle.

Had my stitches removed today, it wasn't too bad. It hurt worse when she pulled the tape off them. Ill post new pictures soon. They look good and other then minor soreness I feel great. I love how they look even with the scars :)

I would also like add a very important piece of advice, if you go into surgery expecting perfection you'll never be happy. If you go in hoping to look better then you do now you'll be much happier and satisfied. I wasn't expecting perfection and I'm thrilled with my results, scar and all :)

I'll officially be 6 weeks post op on monday and I can't wait because I'm ready to work out again! I'm absolutely thrilled with my results, my clothes fit better and I don't have to wear a bra all the time. Not to mention I'm much more confident! I don't have any pain, just a little discomfort sometimes or if I sleep funny on them.

Looking to have surgery with dr baker soon. I saw you had the lift with implants which is what I'm looking into. I was wondering how the scaring is? I'm worried bc of the cut being made down the front and under the breast. Thanks

Hi, I was reading your post. It is very important that you take a stool softener, with all those pain Meds it makes it impossible . I don't know what they don't tell everybody that. But with the Meds they gave to durning surgery and after it will makes it to where you can't go. I really hope that you get them in time and are not in pain from that.. They are a must :) good luck thanks for sharing your story.

Hi! I also had a lift and augmentation 3 days before you (Friday 3/29). We're also just about the same size in all regards (height, weight, starting/ending breast size). Just thought that was all a big coincidence! Anyways, I started feeling much better (pain was tolerable) on day 4. Also...I didn't have a BM until Tuesday. It's the painkillers. Definitely take stool softeners while you're on them. Hope you're feeling better today! You look great. Just remember that these few days of pain will be so worth it in the long run! Looking forward to hearing more updates.

How's it going girl? Stitches still feel like stingy. The pain in my right arm pit is gone. I get stitches out Tuesday.

Hey hun, I actually felt pretty good today. We went to the zoo for the day and I only took some tylenol and muscle relaxers before going and I was fine. Wow you get your stitches out early, mine don't come out until monday the 15th. I'm hoping it won't hurt too bad!
SouthernGal30 7 Apr 2013
Well some come out Tuesday and some get trimmed? If I remember correctly. I've been taking it easy. Scared to do anything but walk around the house. I can't wait to get another week over. I feel confined.

You look great. I had mine done yesterday aand the pain was horrible for me. it made me irritable I just wanted to be left alone im pretty swollen too I wanna try to take less pain meds today. I ended up with 520cc on the left and 600 cc on the left. Didnt know there was that much difference in my breast. Oh yeah and I got an anchor lift and implants under the muscle. I hope day two is better than day one. Hope you feel better soon. Keep us posted on how your doing. I know it makes me feel better knowing that some else is going thru what I am and feeling the same way.
Deserveit 4 Apr 2013
I think that if your irritable and sore, take the pain meds. I took them for 4 days and weaned off to tylenol for a few days. (I also had lipo too....) Just take 'em. Drink LOTS of water! It'll help!

Yeah that's what my ps just said at my post visit. Wow they look pretty bad! I know they start off looking scary can't wait for them heal up sum. Well thanks for the advice. I guess I can't be super woman this time. Lol
SouthernGal30 7 Apr 2013
I had 400 on right and 320 on left so I'm right there with you in cc differences.
SouthernGal30 3 Apr 2013
I haven't had a bowel movement yet either but I am taking stool softened. I'm itchy, tingly, and miserable. Your looking great!
Deserveit 3 Apr 2013
They look lovely! :)

Don't ice too much cuz of that necrosis thing... i read that that can destroy tissue
SouthernGal30 2 Apr 2013
Glad to hear about that. I was icing but short periods of time because its a very thin ice pack.
Deserveit 3 Apr 2013
My doc told me to ICE, 20 minutes max on.... Then in the next hour I'll did moist heat. A run but damp dish towl in the microwave for 30 seconds over another dry dish towel over a heating pad. Let the towel air until steam is gone the place it 'wherever' with the heating pad over it dry towel between. LOVE the wet heat!
Deserveit 3 Apr 2013
Oh - darnit I forgot which thread I was on. The moist heat was for my lipo'd areas. I did frozen peas on my the tops of my breasts for just a couple of days, a couple of times a day.
Deserveit 2 Apr 2013
Did you get that bra from Zulilly? I just got two today that look just like that. They hurt my ribcage though ;) Looking good! :)
Newboobsmeg 2 Apr 2013
I actually got these from Walmart for about $13 a peice, they are danskin which is awesome because the run about $40-$50 online. They were too big before but now they are almost too small so I'm glad I got a bigger size
Deserveit 2 Apr 2013
Yeah - I got the same ones Zulilly for the same price. Good deal but they don't fit! LOL! I can wear them when I'm standing up but not sitting down. I hate front zip bras. I can't find even one that I like and I've bought 4 of them now since the lift/imlant. I think they'll be fine and good for working out when I can though!
