28 days post op

The most annoying part about recovery for me at this point is my body aches and pains from just overall soreness in my back. Also I hate wearing faja all day and trying to find clothes in my closet to conceal my faja so that I can try and go on living my life! My stitches don't really cause me much discomfort, which I thought would have been the worst part. I guess I'm lucky!
From one day to the next it seems like I am able to do more, which is great! I'm still waiting for the day to be able to take a nice and loooooooong hot shower but I'm being patient. For now, quick showers will do.
Also, tonight will be my first night NOT sleeping in a upright position. I'm going to actually lay down on my back! Flat on my back with just two just two pillows behind my head and one pillow under my feet, instead of the previous 18 pillows to sit me up! Lol. It feels great already to be lay down! It's those kinda of little things we miss while in recovery! Now in hoping these next two months will fly by so I can say goodbye to the faja! Lmao

Surgery experience

I was given the blue pill before surgery and I knocked out. I cannot tell you what the surgery room looked like, how the epidural was performed nothing. I was on cloud 9. Lol.

The pain the first night at Cipla was unbearable! Whatever mild medication they offer via IV was worthless to me and caused me to go into instant regret. I was in sooo much pain. Thankfully my husband was with me overnight and did his best to make me comfortable.

The care given at Cipla by the overnight nurses is AWFUL!! I hadn't eaten the day of surgery and I was told I should have been greeted with soup at my room post operation (which was at 8 pm, that's a long time to go without eating). Well, they forgot about me entirely. Thankfully my husband fed me half a sandwich that he had with him.

I swear there was only 1 nurse for the entire floor, at least it seemed like it. And she would go MIA for hours. The hospital bed has the nurse call button but it doesn't work, and if it did they would still ignore it. If I needed something I would send my husband out to look for my nurse 3-4 times and she would come at least an hour or two later and I was lucky! If I didn't have my husband doing the legwork for me I'm sure I would have only been visited once that night.
There was a girl in the room next to me that was screaming in pain for hours, she kept calling out for her nurse who never showed. Finally after 2 hours of her screams the nurse goes to her only to yell at her that she had to be quite. I guess she was uncomfortable or in pain but there was nothing else that could be done for her. They do not give you extra medication, they only give you the same amount every 6 hours maybe???

I would never recommend anyone rely on the care of Cipla. Please hire your own Personal Nurse! The staff at Cipla is horrible. The doctors are wonderful but the nurses are not so kind. I heard a rumor from another nurse that the Cipla staff sometimes goes missing during overnight hours because they are hiding and taking naps on the job. I do not know if this is true but I wouldn't doubt it. Granted I did not hire an overnight nurse at Cipla, that option is given to you for $50, I cannot speak on that specific care.

That's all I really have to say about my post surgery experience. I was strong and handled the pain well. I was glad to go to my private apartment and receive the professional and loving care from my personal nurse.

I love Dra Duran! She is very professional and caring. I know she is not the easiest to contact prior to surgery (mainly because her secretary staff are also horrible! They are sweet girls in person but it is clear that they are of no real benefit to Duran's business). I have followed up with Dra Duran via text messages a handful of times post op and she always answers back within a few hours the very same day.

I am healing wonderfully and do not regret my surgery at all. My best advice is to please please hire a private nurse for your personal care during your stay at Cipla. Do not hire a nurse a Cipla, just bring your own and you will not regret it.
