Mommy Make-Over Part 2

It has been 29 weeks since I had the first part of my mommy make-over. The first procedure was for a tummy tuck, flank lipo and a breast list. In 10 days I will complete my mommy make-over and have 492cc silicon implants, a touch up to the flank lipo, my inverted nipples repaired, and inner thigh lipo. YEAH! I will be done. Listing off all of my procedures is overwhelming, since I don't think about it much. Today at my pre-op I asked to see my before pictures. When I looked at the old me, I cried. I can't believe how far I have come. I am nervous about getting implants, but I am excited to see the next phase done.

Feeling Great!!

25 days ago I became flat. Little did I realize how glad I would be that I did the surgery. I knew I would be happy, but I didn't know how happy I would be or how much better about myself I would feel.

The first few days were the hardest, but I would not trade that for where I am now. In the past few days I have started walking longer distances and stood up right all day long. Last night I slept in my bed using only one pillow and even slept on my sides!!!! My confidence level is at the highest it has ever been.

Here are some things that I have learned over the last 3.5 weeks...

1. Rest is critical to healing. Allow others to do things for you, but don't become so lazy that you don't do anything.

2 and 3. Get up, walk and drink water. I made myself drink roughly 28 oz of water an hour while I was awake so I would get up and walk. All of the water really helped me flush everything out of my system. The walking helped get things moving.

4. Don't expect to be wear a smaller size right away. I am able to fit into my 8's perfectly, but my 6's are not happening for a while. My fluffy tummy was easy to squeeze down, but now my flat stomach just doesn't have anywhere to go to squeeze. I am okay with my 8's because they are comfortable and everything looks much better than pre-op. (No under the belt rolls) Also, I know that I am swollen and will be for up to a year.

5. If you have little ones, they will want to cuddle more than ever! My girls don't know much more than mommy doesn't feel well. They want to be in my lap all of the time now. I am able to pick up my 18 mth old using just my arms thankfully! I was left alone with the kids on Day 4, which scared the crud out of me. It was supposed to be their nap time, but they had other plans. We survived and each day has been much easier.

6. Don't forget your diet while on the mend. I forgot this and therefore started to gain back my weight. Sigh.... Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches sounded great at 11pm with my husband for a few nights. I have gotten bored many times and ate for no real reason. I did this when I had my first daughter and kicked myself then as I am kicking myself now. I am back to using myfitnesspal to track my intake and using RunKeeper to track my walks.

7. Speaking of walks..... My dr cleared me to begin walking at week 2. I walked short distances at first and now I am up to 1.5 miles. Boy it feels great. I am not walking as fast as I used to, but I will get there.

8. Don't use Triple Antibiotic Ointment. When all of my Dermabond glue peeled off around the end of week 2, I put the TAO on all of my incisions to prevent an infection for the first day after no glue, and wham! I was hit with a nasty rash. I am trying to get rid of it with Benadryl and cortisone creme. I have been icing it down also :) Dr. says that it is not unusual to get a rash because of the Neomycin I think.

9. Don't compare yourself to others. Every one has as different situation and a different doctor. They all have different practices and do things they way they learned or have researched and found is best. I selected my doctor because he was drainless and my aunt works for him. Regardless of #2, I researched him and liked all that I found. I wanted to question at first why I didn't have a binder or this, that and the other, but then settled down and became content with his practices. I am glad I didn't have the binder or CG and I don't know the difference if I did have one. I can't compare to something I don't know and won't need to know. I just know that I am happy and comfortable. :)

10. Dressed are amazing! You can't have too many summery dresses. I have worn jeans and shorts, but I would rather be in a dress any day of the week right now. There is something about not having something on your waist.

11. Your first period after surgery will suck! I just wasn't ready for it to come and then it stayed too long. I felt bloated like never before and was just miserable. Maybe it was because I have never had a flat stomach in the first place, but to see my stomach bloat for the first time ever was strange.

12. Take pictures! Both before and after! I am kicking myself for not taking pictures of me in my favorite pants so I can compare and contrast the before and after as well as the bend over shots, pushup shots, etc. Don't be afraid to take pics. I would like to see where I was to where I am now as a little bit of continued motivation. (I haven't posted pics here due to fact that once they are up, there are out there for anyone in the world to see. I have a great job and pictures could cost me my job if there was anyway for them to be linked back to me.)

I think I covered it all...

18 Days PO

Tonight I walked 1.5 miles while pushing my youngest in the stroller. I feel like I accomplished something for the first time in a while. :) My husband has been spoiling me recently with some new dresses that are comfy to wear out and today with some new jewelry. I have complained about him much over the year, and now I feel bad because he has taken such good care of me and has supported me through my TT and breast lift. I am one lucky girl!

I have met with my doctor twice now. He is very kind, and caring. He listened to what I want and has reassured me that I am making the right choice. He is very detailed in going over the procedures with me and my husband. 6/1/14 ~ I am so glad that I had Dr. Watumull perform my surgery. My TT incision was done well and is healing nicely. I like how he did a drainless TT and I have not had any issues with excessive fluid build up. I swelled the first 6-7 days post-op but day 9 it seems to be minimal. I like how my breast life has turn out thus far. I feel like they are where they were when I was 16. Dr. Watumull has exceeded my expectations and I would send anyone to see him. My only complaint has been wait times in the office. But I know that is because he is spending as much time as he needs with each patient.
