My whole life I've talked about getting a nose job...

My whole life I've talked about getting a nose job. Every time I'd tell a friend they could never understand what the big deal was. I always found it funny that a pimple could set them off and make them feel self-conscious. I guess it's because that's exactly how I feel about my nose, but I live with it everyday. I'm finally in a positions where I can do the surgery and even had a couple consultation but now I'm scared. I've never had surgery, I'm 28 years old, healthy, with no medical issues but now fear is holding me back. I'm scared of something going wrong I've thought about every possible thing going wrong. I feel like I'm obsessing over it now and I haven't even done it. Do you obsess more after the surgery? I have realistic expectations about it but I don't want to make my nose an obsession in my life.

I haven't performed the surgery yet. I've only gone to the initial consultation, but Dr. Cochran and his office team were extremely polite and informative. I love the fact that he only does rhinoplasty because that means that nose jobs are his bread and butter. I'm taking this week to really analyze the pros and cons of a nose job and make a final decision, but if I do decide to do the surgery it will be with Dr. Cochran. I've had another consultation with another doctor who is a plastic surgeon (Dr. Cochran is a otolaryngologist) and although he was nice I didn't feel like he performed enough rhinoplasty's to give me that confidence required for something like this.
