2 weeks out
I had my 2-week post-op check and things are progressing nicely. I'm getting use to the new me. Everything is starting to itch so I have been taking Benadryl to help this. I love my smaller size but I'm disappointed that people aren't noticing. You would think with almost 2kg removed it would be obvious but I guess I'm to blame since I still dress modestly. I head back to work in 2 days so that will be the true test. Wish me luck!

I am a 44 year old female who had extremely large breasts. I never needed a training bra and went from nothing to a C. I have been a G despite a 60 pound weight loss. Unlike most people I know, my breasts did not get smaller with the weight loss. They have always been the first thing guys notice and I have always been self conscious of my appearance. I have NEVER liked my breasts. I have thought about a reduction for 20 + years. I finally decided now is the time! I really wanted a female physician; men can't understand the pain, discomfort and social stigma associated with large breasts. I met With Dr. Farah Khan, a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. We discussed a reduction and when was the right time to do it. I decided the sooner the better as Texas heat would make recovery uncomfortable. On April 9, 2015 I underwent a reduction/mammoplasty. It was the best decision I have ever made. Immediately after surgery I felt like a weight had been lifted off my chest. I was able to breathe better. I no longer had breasts that hung to my waist. I will admit the drains and the nipple bolsters ( I needed a nipple graft) were uncomfortable but pain was manageable. The first few days post-op were a shock but, as they started to take shape and I started to accept my new shape, I became a much happier person! I have always been known as the girl with the big boobs...now, I'm just me. I can't recommend Dr. Farah Khan strongly enough. She really takes the time to explain things and spends the time in the OR making sure things are done well! I have nothing but great things to say about her and her staff! Being a physician myself, I have extremely high standards and she exceeded my expectations. I would recommend anyone I know to her! If you're looking for a caring, compassionate plastic surgeon to make you look your best, consider Dr. Khan!!!!
