37 Years Old, 2 Large Babies, and Desperately Wanted a Tummy Tuck! - Dallas, TX

After 2 years of intense workouts post-baby #2, I resigned myself to the fact that a good diet and exercise wasn't enough. I had excess skin - wrinkly and covered in stretch marks. I also had discomfort with any bra, sports bra or bathing suit top - almost as if they were suffocating me. Dr. Meade was one of three plastic surgeons I met for consultations, and he came highly reccommended. After spending considerable time educating me, going though the steps of the procedure, helping me understand what to expect as far as recovery was concerned, and taking "before" pictures of my problem areas, he went the extra mile to be available to me via email anytime I had questions. That was something I treasured immensely. His experience with mothers, and the struggles they have with their post-baby bodies, showed in his understanding of my fears and concerns. After a second consultation, where he wanted me to be absolutely sure (and excited) about moving forward, I booked my surgery. His office immediately emailed all paperwork, day of surgery information, consents, payment information, Cosmetasure information, and prescriptions for recovery meds. They also have an on-site hotel facility where 24-hour nursing care is available for one night post-op. We booked a room for the night of the surgery. That was an additional cost, but extremely worth it. All payments and paperwork were submitted 2 weeks before surgery. Day of, I was greeted by the nicest nursing staff ever, dropped off luggage at the hotel, and went straight to pre-op. Dr. Meade spent considerable time marking places for incision and natural creases in my skin while standing and sitting. He was very careful to make sure that in every motion, my post-op scar wouldn't be visible whether in underwear or a bikini. Then it was time for the surgery. Post-op was a blur, but I remember feeling a faint pinch from the two drains, and I felt tightness. My abdomen muscles were considerably separated post-pregnancies, and once they were stitched back together, I felt the tightness of the muscles I had been working on for the past 2 years! It was amazing! I also felt the expected pain. The nursing staff was immediately by my side monitoring my pain and administering medicine. My husband had a bed beside my hospital bed, and spent the night next to me. The nurses walked him through all post-op care, so he was well prepared to help me while recovering at home.
From beginning to end (still going in for post-op check-ups), I feel so fortunate to have had Dr. Meade, his office, and nurses as the ones that took care of me. I felt in the presense of a surgeon who was highly educated, versed, and experienced in all matters of plastic surgery. I also felt kindness, profesionalism, and compassion that trickeld down to his staff and nurses. This surgery has given me nothing but happiness and confidence. I am happier with my body now than before I can remember. My husband is absolutely blown away by what my abdomen looks like. I am blown away. Dr. Meade is a life saver of sorts. I will be sending anyone I know considering any type of surgery to meet with him. He's so inclined to do the right thing for each patient, he might even try to talk them out of it, but if he does operate on them, it will be the best decision they make.
