I have surgery scheduled for March 20th with Dr. Steven Goldman in Cleveland Ohio. I have chose him because he is double certified ENT and plastic surgeon. I was impessed his honesty and the time he spent answering my questions.I have a deviated septum and a bump that I am having removed. I was in a car accident in high school which caused injury to my nose. As I have become older my septum has become more deviated. With surgery 9 days away I am very nervous. I am a runner and very healthy. I never get sick. I woke up yesterday with a cold. I also now have a an infection due to an ingrown toenail. I am assuming stress is the cause. I have an appointment with my doctor Tuesday to start an antibiotic to be safe. I am calling Dr Goldman on Monday. I am wondering if I will need to reschedule my surgery. I have done some research and some Doctors do surgery even when there iis has an infection. I am also curious as to why not all Doctors do pre-op testing? I have never had pre-op testing for surgery.
I am so nervous my surgery is on Tuesday! I...

When I came out of anesthesia I had very little pain. I had an hour and a half car ride home and still had little pain. The first night I started to swell, had some pain and a sore throat. The day after surgery The sore throat, pain and swelling continued. The second night my entire face swelled. It is now the third day and it feels like the swelling is going down. I still have some pain and continue on my pain meds.
My cast and stints came out yesterday. I couldn't...

It has now been a little over two weeks since my rhinoplasty The swelling is diminishing more each day. I am starting to see the shape of my nose and I love it. It is a scary process but I am so happy that I went though with it.
Great review?
My Doctor: Steven Goldman, MD
My rating:
I would recommend Dr. Goldman to anyone. He took time to answer all of my questions. He is a very caring Doctor. He went above and beyond. Dr. Goldman called the night of surgery to follow up and took the time to answer all of my many questions. Dr. Goldman is the only plastic surgeon I will use. His nurse Jody called the next day. There are two Jody's in the office. The medical assistant and nurse. They are both very sweet caring people. Jody the medical assistant pushed my paper work through and followed up with my insurance company. She also was very good about completing fmla paper work. Jody the nurse made me feel very comfortable before and after surgery. The anesthesiologist and other nurse were also very comforting. Also Kevin and Jennifer at the front desk are great! The dealt with my many phone calls patiently. Jennifer was also able to schedule my appointment in the same month as my consultation. I have a busy schedule and could only schedule the month of March.
I have a question. So if you can recall, did you see a lot pf differences between 3 weeks and where you are now? 1.5 months? I am just over 3 weeks and there might be slight changes but not a ton...Also di you develop any little bump like things on the bridge one day gone the next?
Hope you're well and super happy...I still would love to see your pics....you could send them to me privately?
Hi there and welcome to RealSelf. You're right, only some doctors do pre-op testing (I never had it either). I'm not sure about operating with the ingrown toenail infection or not. What does your surgeon say?
Please keep us posted. I think you're going to do great!
