1 Month Post Op
It's been a full month since my surgery and I am doing great! Last week I was fully released to go back to my normal routine! So glad with the holidays here????! My doctor told me I'd still drop some more, but overall I will remain the same size --- so I actually got to go buy a real bra without all the extra padding and pick me up. It was a great, but strange feeling and to be real honest I didn't know where to start. (---- sad but true ----) Thank goodness the lady at Victoria Secrets was very nice and very helpful. Although I'm a little larger than I anticipated, I'm by no means disappointed ---- in fact, I'm very pleased. My doctor definitely knew what he was doing and made them proportionate to the rest of my body.
Talking to Your Daughter(s) - Repost
I posted this elsewhere, but reqlly feel it is important and kno I can not be the only one having to have this conversation. So, I wanted to make sure I put it on my page?
I have 3 kids - 11, 8, & 5. I opted to talk to my 11 year old daughter because first, she would have known something was up and secondly I always want to keep an open honest relationship with her. Prior to my suregery, I talked to her without a lot of detail and told her I eas going to have some work doneon my chest. I approached it as women get older and after having 3 kids your body changes, but it is a blessing. And although I am not unsatisfied with what the good Lord has blessed me with, I just wanted to have some work on my chest area - for myself, not anyone else. Of course, she didn't completely understand, but I told her if she ever had any questions she could always come and talk to me. A few days later she asked me about braces and why some adults get them --- this was perfect considering everything that had taken place. We talked about self esteem and feeling good about yourself when you look in the mirror and that actually being a form of cosmectic surgery too. She immediately made the connection. Throughout the entire process she has been completely AWESOME!!! Helping me around the house, helping with her siblings and much, much more. Looking back I am so glad I told her.

One Week Visit
My one week visit went great! My swelling is going down and everything is as it should be at this point. Evidently I'm doing really well, because the doctor was impressed with my progress. At this point I'll be in the post-op bra another at least another week.
