Chin Implant with Submental Lipo and Ultherapy
I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Chan and his team and am absolutely thrilled with my results!
I had a chin implant with submental liposuction and ultherapy with Dr. Chan November of last year. I had two consultations, one with Dr. Chan’s assistant Yvonne, and another with Dr. Chan 2 weeks before my surgery date. Both Yvonne and Dr. Chan listened attentively to my concerns and desired results before recommending treatment options. I was previously recommended a neck lift by another surgeon, and Yvonne advised that that wouldn’t be necessary to achieve the results I was looking for. I really appreciated her honesty since it saved me from a much more invasive procedure as well as additional cost! Dr. Chan was also incredibly patient and thorough in answering my (many) questions. He listened attentively and asked clarifying questions to make sure we were on the same page about what I was looking for. He also showed me some chin implant samples so we could work together in choosing the best shape size for my anatomy.
The procedures themselves were incredibly quick and virtually painless – I underwent all 3 procedures in one visit under light sedation. Shae, who performed ultherapy on my chin and neck, was so kind and knowledgeable. The ultherapy was only slightly uncomfortable as my pain meds hadn’t fully kicked in yet, but the pain was still very minimal and manageable. Shae made friendly conversation the whole time and made sure I was comfortable. Next, Dr. Chan performed my submental liposuction and chin implant surgery. He was again very careful to make sure I wasn’t in any pain and gave additional lidocaine shots when necessary. From start to finish, all 3 procedures took under an hour, which I attribute to the team’s skill and experience.
Recovery was easy and uneventful. I was able to return to work the day after my surgery (I primarily WFH), as I didn’t need any prescription pain meds after the first day and felt surprisingly normal. I was visibly swollen and bruised for the first week or so but felt absolutely no pain. In my experience, the worst parts of recovery were wearing the compression garment and sleeping slightly upright – which isn’t bad at all! I returned to in-office work after about a week with some concealer to hide the remaining bruising, and while I thought I still looked a little odd at that point, none of my coworkers made any comments. All visible swelling and bruising were completely gone within two weeks.
Lastly, I am in love with my results – I have always been a bit insecure about my weak chin and wanted a stronger jawline and slimmer neck. Dr. Chan knocked it out of the park by giving me the definition I was looking for while still looking incredibly natural and complementing my existing features. I still look like myself, but more ‘balanced’ and attractive version of myself! My only regret is not starting the process sooner. I would highly recommend Dr. Chan and Reviance to anyone interested in a chin implant or facial cosmetic surgery in general.
