Hi Realself community. I have decided to share my experience as this site has helped me so so so much to gather the courage needed to go through w my rhinoplasty. i have hated my nose forever. Mostly I have not done this before as I have been to afraid. I have consulted w two doctors in Chicago. Dr Platis and Dr A Shah. I liked them both but feel that Shah is way more experienced in rhino as a facail platic surgeon. He has done over 2000 and is double cerified as a ent as well. I am scheduled in exactly a month and am very excited. I am going to have lower eyelid surgery and fat transfer as i have bags and fat loss under my eyes. I know its alot.

As for the concerns I have I am mostly afraid of the anesthesia. I am a nurse and although I have heard horror stories mostly I know it is safe. The 1600 reviews of people who lived to tell have helped as well. I am also afraid of waking up in pain or while intubated. LOL! I have not heard anyone have had that happen but still its a fear. Also throwing up is a concern but I can live w it if it happens. I hope I don't freak out as I am know to have anxiety attacks. I plan on asking for meds to take the night before.

Of course I am afraid of not liking the results. I have alot of faith in Dr Shah thought. There is no way I will regret this as I already dislike the nose I have. I will keep you all posted as things progress. If anyone else has had the lower bleph/fat transfer I wonder if the recovery is alot worse.

Thanks everyone for sharing your stories is has helped me tremendously.

I decided to only do the Rhino plasty and not anything with my eyes. I feel that it is too much at once. Although I might do fillers or something more subtle later. At any rate I have been reading everybody's updates and am very excited for my surgery on Monday.

Slept a lot. Admittedly I did not keep up with my icing like I wanted to. The patches help. I already had bruising before I even got home. I can breathe out of my nose and feel pretty well today overall.

Overall feeling like myself today. Able to clean and do laundry like a normal Sunday. I had a whole list of things to get done this week and that didn't happen. I read 3 books though. Lol. Nose stuffy. Bruising subsiding. Swelling not to bad. Cast of tomorrow I am so excited!

So I got the cast of and it was a shock! My nose was shaped very oddly due to the shape of the cast. I had a oh no moment. Within an hour or so it took a more normal shape. Its very swollen but I do think I will love it eventually. :)

Back to work today. Was nervous that people would notice. One good thing about the swelling is it kind of masks that you had anything done. Lol. Still very very swollen the tip is hard as a rock
