I've been embarassed about my labia for as long as...

I've been embarassed about my labia for as long as I can remember. I knew there had to be something wrong with me when I was unable to wear certain underwear, without having to "tuck myself in." Aside from the embarrassment, there was constant pain. Tight clothing would pinch it, sex was uncomfortable, lacie underwear would hurt, tampons were hard to use, etc. I called in October looking for information on the procedure, and then decided to talk with my gyno about it. She informed me that I wouldn't need to see a plastic surgeon, that gynecologists perform this surgery quite frequently. Boy was that a relief!! Went in yesterday morning for my surgery. The nurses were so friendly, and my gynecologist was the one who performed the surgery, so that was comforting. They wheeled me in right on time, and I was out and back home earlier than I expected. I was shocked when I was told by the nurse that they didn't use any stitches, and that I wouldn't be prescribed any pain killers... Especially after reading basically every review on here! But whatever, I was done and wanted to get the heck out of there! I went home and had no side effects from the anesthesia... I wasn't even drowsy. Which was also shocking, because I was under general anesthesia and intubated. I went pee for the first time about five hours after surgery (and from the moment I got home I laid with an ice pack in my underwear!) and I was terrified. It stung a little but not unbearable. I patted myself off, applied the cream, and looked in the mirror and was shocked. I looked normal! A little bloody, but no more oversized labia. I wasn't even swollen or anything. Aside from the blood, you couldn't even tell I had just had surgery hours before! I prepped myself for immense pain and swelling tomorrow (today now) and went to bed. Woke up in absolutely no pain. Looked in the mirror and no swelling still. I'm in shock. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I've read nothing like this on here before. Also, I'm so confused about how she didn't need stitches. And does that mean my healing process will be shorter? Must I still wait the "6-8 weeks" everyone on here talks about to have sex? I'm seeing my doc again Monday, but wanted to ask here too. I'll keep you all posted on my journey!
