I interviewed 4 doctors in the Wake area and Dr. Stoeckel and his staff easily rose to the top. They were fantastic, from beginning to end. Dr. Stoeckel answered all my questions, and showed me pictures of the entire operation (ewww! but helpful.) I didn't have excessively large breasts, about a DD, but they were sagging, low, and heavy...which resulted in constant neck and shoulder pain and slouching. I just hated them. I'm now a small D and they are perky and sexy. The scars continue to fade and they look very natural.
The surgery itself was beyond easy. The kind staff allowed both my husband and mom to use the conference room while they waited. I was in and out...at least that's what it felt like. Right after surgery we drove through Chick-Fil-A and I had a full meal! I was loopy from the very light anesthesia I was under....but felt great.
Almost ZERO pain associated with recovery...tightness and a lot of soreness mostly. I mainly was uncomfortable sleeping in a reclined seated position in bed (instead of on my stomach and side.) It took about 3 weeks for me to be able to sleep on my side. I stopped taking the prescribed pain meds within 24 hours and was on Motrin for just a few days. Noticeable improvements day to day. I took an entire week off work but could have been back in a few days. Changing the tapes on the incisions was a bit uncomfortable and scary to see, but that was the worst part of the whole thing!
Highly recommended and so glad I did this in my early 30s instead of waiting till I'm much older. It was affordable and worth it! And on the plus side, Dr. Stoeckel turned out to be the most "affordable" in the area. I chose the best doctor, and the cost was a perk.
Dr. Stoeckel clearly has done this surgery many many times and the procedure and recovery are very predictable. I am so pleased with the results. Neck and shoulder pain gone, too! I look much more proportionate. Dr. Stoeckel is the best!
