Noticed excess eyelid skin, droopy lids in my mid...

Noticed excess eyelid skin, droopy lids in my mid 30's. Decided it was time for a consultation at 48. Wanted a surgeon who only performed eye surgery. Found Dr. Lee via RS and google. Liked his credentials and informative website.
Consultation: Late November 2017 $75
The majority of the consult was spent with Dr Lee's surgical assistant, Christine. She took photos of my face on an iPad, discussed my concerns, different procedures, showed me a lot of before/after photos, and the cost of the procedures. She was very thorough and knowledgeable that by the time I met with Dr. Lee, I did not have really any questions. I understand that this consultation procedure saves Dr. Lee a lot of time. Dr. Lee comes across as a soft spoken, humble man.
Upper Blepharplasty & Brow Lift Recommendation:
I was interested in learning more about a lower blepharplasty and possibly upper eyelid lift. I was hoping I wouldn't need a brow lift too. After the consultation, I realized that I would want a brow lift to achieve the look I sought. They explained that only so much of the upper lid can be safely removed. If too much skin was removed, I wouldn't be able to close my eyes. Dr. Lee would enter through the upper eyelid incision to lift the brow, and anchor the sutures onto the thick fascia on the scalp. There are four small (>.5") incisions in the scalp. Staples would be hidden inside the hairline. Christine told me it would be two staples on my scalp. After the surgery, Dr. Lee told me he placed six. That information would not have swayed me against a brow lift. However, indiscrepences like this is why it might not be ideal to have two people give a consult.
Lower Blepharplasty and Skin Tightening:
Dr. Lee would excise the fat from inside the lower eye without a noticeable scar. My lower lid skin lacked sufficient elasticity due to years of expansion/contraction of my puffy lower lids from allergies and age. They recommended skin tightening to prevent additional wrinkles after the lower lid fat removal. Instead of the pinch technique with an incision made below the lower lash, Dr. Lee tightens the skin from the outside corner of the eye to the lateral cheekbone. The incision is ~1/2". The reason explained is to prevent lower lid retraction that is common with placing an incision beneath the lower lash line... the scar tissue has nowhere sturdy to attach, the lower lid skin is thin and floppy, the scar can fall forward and out. With Dr. Lee's method, the suture can attach to a secure area and not pull the lower eye skin down and out. However, dealing with such a noticeable cut has proven to be mentally difficult in the healing process. The skin tightening incision is stitched to form a pucker. The reason is because the scar will flatten while healing. If he were to do a flat scar, the skin would tear and split open while healing.
Scheduling Surgery:
Since my profession is physically demanding, I knew I'd need to take off at least 2 weeks from work. I decided the best time to recover would be over the holidays. Fortunately, Dr. Lee had an out of town meeting that was canceled and was able to perform the surgery on December 19, 2017.
2 days Prior to surgery:
Started a z-pack. Had a 90 minute Vodder manual lymphatic drainage massage. This type of massag, lessens bruising, swelling, and promotes faster healing by providing a cleaner lymph system for surgery. Dr. Lee does not provide this massage service.
Surgery:
I was given pills to help me sleep. I woke up at the beginning of surgery when Dr. Lee was injecting the local anesthesia. My face immediately felt swollen. I guess it was from the injections. I was not happy about being conscious during surgery! I have undergone twilight surgery 20 years ago where I had slept through the entire procedure. So, I was not expecting to be awake! I did momentarily fall asleep while he performed my lower skin tightening. I woke up when he started on my upper lids and didn't fall back to sleep until I was in the car almost home. I tried to not talk much since I did not want my skin pulled while he was working. I did not dare open my eyes unless asked.
Throughout the surgery, Dr. Lee had to keep injecting me with more local anesthesia because I could feel a little stinging. He was very attentive to my comfort level. The most uncomfortable part was the lower fat removal. Even though the fat is being pulled out, it feels like significant pressure pushing down onto the eyeball. I could also hear and feel the brow being pulled up and attached to my scalp. It didn't hurt.
After surgery, Dr. Lee placed bandages on my face, showed me how to apply the ointment to my upper eye, and gave me an ice pack. The surgery lasted a little over 3.5 hours. I needed help walking to and from the car because the antibiotic ointment made everything looked like walking in a funhouse.
Recovery:
The first day was the toughest as far as pain and swelling. I applied cold compresses almost hourly. Dr. Lee did not advise me to take Bromelain and Arnica to help with healing. However, he said it was okay for me to take them when I asked.
Dr. Lee called me the next morning to check in on me. I texted him pictures of my progress. He removed my staples and most of my stitches 10 days post-op. He also injected my forehead with Botox to keep the muscles from pulling and help with healing. The rest of the stitches were removed at 2 weeks post-op.
Tomorrow will be three weeks since my surgery. I still experience swelling, especially in the AM. I'm applying cold compresses in the AM and warm compresses in the afternoon and evening. I apply antibiotic ointment in the AM, steroid ointment at lunch and dinner, and a bleaching cream before bed. I have a post-op Vodder manual lymphatic drainage massage scheduled tomorrow.
I feel like my personal recovery from the skin tightening is slow. I feel self conscious with the visible scars. I realize it will take months for them to fade. Hopefully, makeup will help cover the scars. I'm waiting until next week or after my incisions heal to apply makeup.
It's too early to tell exactly how my eyes will look in a few months. My skin is still red around the incisions. I am still swollen. And, I have dark circles under my eyes. I'm not sure if that's from the healing process or because of the fat removal.
Dr. Lee told me my skin tightening incisions will scab.
