12 Days Post Op Photos

Finally getting around to posting all of my photos. This round includes my wish pics, pre-op photos and immediately after surgery photos. Prior to surgery I wore a 32D-32DD bra (was measured twice for this but no one ever believed me :/ ). I didnt have a "wish" size of bra or cc really, just had more of a "look" I liked. The wish pic I have using my padded bra was a 32DD that slightly gapped depending if I was only my period or not.

12 Days Post Op

So I've been meaning to post an update on my surgery but haven't found the time until almost two weeks afterwards! A lot has changed since my older posts but I wanted to give an update on the new girls! Hopefully it will be as helpful to someone as this website has been to me on this journey. This post is going to be long but I just wanted to fit everything in it up until today :)

Pre-Surgery: In the two weeks before my surgery I was contacted by the staff for my pre-op appointment. I was instructed to stop my birth control two weeks before and to not eat anything after 1030pm the night before surgery. That night and a few days prior I took some of my own "before" photos both topless and in my bras, swimsuits, ect for reference. My surgery was in a different state from where I live (4.5 hours each way) so I planned my packing list ahead of time. It included 2 loose zip up jackets, loose shorts, an extra front-zip up sports bra, 2 sets of comfy joggers, sandals, my prescriptions + hibicleanse, laptop and charger, extra long phone cord, hair clips, and a pillow and blanket for the drive.

Surgery Day: I was told to wake up at 4am the day of surgery to take Prepitant (anti-nausea) medicine and to shower with Hibicleanse. I had to be at the surgery center at 530 am so the timing worked out. At arrival they did a temperature check as well as a blood-prick rapid Covid test. Once those were done I was able to go inside into my own "pre-op room" and start the check in procedure that included a urine/pregnancy test, weigh in, medical paperwork, social media paperwork, changing into my hospital gown and compression socks, and taking my before photos. The nurses helping out with this part were so kind and comforting that I felt at ease immediately even though I was a little nervous in the beginning. After all of that Dr. Obaid came into my room and we discussed sizes and profiles for my implants. For the size I wanted I brought a padded bra for reference because I liked the size it made me appear as well most people were used to seeing me this size because I wore it regularly. I wanted my breasts to be larger and be able to fill out bras/swimsuits with no padding, but I still wanted them to appear natural and not be noticeable if I didn't want them to be. He gave me a couple of sizers to try on to ensure that I got exactly what I was asking for. I considered going larger to like a 280 or 300cc because I kept hearing about "boob greed" but when the doctor measured me he said that my frame is small and that those sizes are wider and would start to protrude out at the middle and sides, which might result in a less natural look than I wanted. At one point I changed my mind on size and he was extremely patient and went back and forth (I'm guessing to the storage room where the keep different sizers) to get me different sizes, all the while remaining extremely helpful and trying to ensure my absolute approval of the size before the surgery. Once the sizes were chosen (255cc high profile) the nurse came back in to give me my IV. I guess I was really dehydrated and she had a difficult time finding a vein (drink lots of water/low sugar electrolyte drinks the days before your surgery!!). The anesthesiologist then came in and found a vein and started my IV drip. Finally, I walked with them to the surgery room where I was told to lay on the operating table and I immediately passed out lol they gave me no warning about the anesthesia but that's fine because I was completely out until about an hour after surgery.

After waking up from surgery in the recovery room I started having some issues with breathing (I have asthma) but they had my inhaler ready for me to use. My boyfriend was waiting outside so they wheeled me in a wheelchair out to him. I'm pretty sure I fell asleep in the wheelchair and during the 3 min drive back to our hotel because the anesthesia was so strong lol. I got a very nice (don't skimp on this if possible if visiting from out of town because you want to be very comfortable in your hotel after surgery) hotel just 3-4 minutes from the surgery center. Once we got to our room I passed out in the comfy bed for a couple of hours while my boyfriend ran to the store and bought me saltines, dark chocolate, water and Zero Gatorade. For about a week and a half after surgery they have you on a strict schedule of prescriptions (8 different medicines were prescribed to me total - some were taken just as needed though) so I would eat a couple of crackers so my stomach wouldn't get upset and drink gatorade every time I took medicine. It's extremely important to stay hydrated after surgery too. The day of surgery and the day after surgery I was very sore and tender but not in terrible pain. It felt like the day after the most extreme workout you've ever done but times ten. Any movement requiring the use of my upper chest/arms/pecks made it feel like my chest was going to rip open. After surgery I just really focused on using my abs and thigh muscles to move. I only took one hydrocodone or valium both of those days to help (don't mix those!). I never had any nausea either. They also provided a really good heating/cooling gel bag that I used several times a day! If they don't give you one just be sure you have one in your freezer waiting at home because its a life saver. One strong thing was that my fingers were numb on the side I got my IV in, but that subsided the next day. I also just continued to wear the bra they gave me because it was really tight and I just felt most supported in it. Dr. Obaid called me at 7pm the night after my surgery to check on me, which was really kind because I know he's extremely busy. He assured me that the girls look really good and I'm going to love them, which helped bc I was nervous that I went too small. He said it was okay to take off my bra for a second and look at them, which was so exciting!

Day 2, 3, 4 and 5 Post Op: The second, third and fourth day after surgery was when the pain started to intensify for me. 2 of those days I took 2 pain pills (spaced out of course). I started to feel a really intense pain on the bottom inside of my right breast. It almost felt like a a muscle tear and would light up anytime I moved. I asked the doctor and nurses about it and they said it was normal and that it should subside (which it has at this point). Other than the typical soreness/tenderness I referenced earlier this and back pain were the only significant issues I've had so far. I think because my chest hurt so much I started slumping over when I sit and walk but it has resulted in my back hurting quite a bit. I have an electric a massager that I used + hot showers that helped immensely. I didn't shower until day 2 after surgery and only did slowly from the waist down using a shower head wand. My friend came over and washed my hair for me about 4 days after surgery. We figured the easiest way was to put a stool in my shower and I leaned back and she washed my hair with the wand. She also meal prepped for me and pre-opened all of my water bottles in the fridge so I don't have to use my muscles to do so, which is so sweet. I've been taking photos of the girls every day and have even started to (very slowly) try a few bras and swimsuits on just bc I'm so excited. I've always considered my boobs to be good and large enough and was mostly happy with them my whole life but we go to the lake almost every weekend in the summer and I was getting so tired of always having to pack extra padding because I was self conscious about how big my boobs were, or not feeling like I could go braless because they would appear really small if I didn't have a padded bra on. I never realized how small they were until I got implants lol. Now that I have them (even though it's only been about 2 weeks) it's so nice to not have to worry about wearing a padded bra to REALLY fill out a top or to wear padding with a swimsuit so I don't want to look so small or disproportionate - I'm a little curvy with a big booty :)

Day 6 - 12 Post Op: The pain started to decrease significantly after the first week and I started to feel like my normal self again. I have to be careful bc I can't lift over 10 lbs for 6 weeks which is REALLY difficult for me since I'm always working or doing something. It's strange but I also have started to feel a little depressed about the size and symmetry of my breasts during the past few days. My boobs were asymmetrical to begin with (my right was larger) so during surgery I though the doctor would use two different sizes to fix it but he ended up using the same same. I was pretty upset bc my whole life I've always had to put extra padding in the left side of my bra to compensate so I was SO excited to have them be symmetrical. When I asked the nurses and doctors why they were still asymmetrical and why they didn't use two different sizes I was told a couple of times that it's just swelling at different rates, which is true but it didn't address the issue. Finally I was able to talk to Doctor O and he told me that during surgery he tried two different sizes and it started to look asymmetrical in the opposite way so going with 2x 255cc implants gave the best results. I will say I think my breasts look MUCH BETTER than before but I still really notice the different in size. I have to wait several months though before I can do anything about it (if I do). I also started to feel depressed that I didn't go large enough, which I have read that several girls feel this way the few days post surgery but it subsides. I hope that goes away and I'm happy with the size once they drop and fluff! Either way it is still such an improvement and I'm so happy I did it! No regrets at all about actually having the surgery done! Which I was worried about bc I like to be somewhat "natural" but I realized I don't feel unnatural at all, only like a better version of myself. If you decide to get implants just make sure that you are only doing it for YOU! No one else :)

More Questions....

So the nurse at the facility I'm going to have my BA at told me that they don't like to use any implants below 300cc because they're too narrow for most bodies. Is this normal?? I'm petite and wanting a really natural look (I just want to make my breast slightly larger and more symmetric) so I was thinking an implant in the 200-300cc range would be fine. I was also told that I won't be choosing the profile of the implant, that the doctor will during my surgery. This freaks me out because I'd prefer not to have high profile implants. Perhaps this is just normal for BAs though?....I have no idea. Any one else have this issue? Thanks!

I was a little nervous prior to surgery because I wanted a natural look after my breast augmentation but Doctor Obaid was fantastic and gave me exactly what I asked for. Prior to surgery he sat down with me and patiently helped me decide on the right size. Him and the nurses are highly responsive and have answered all of my questions very quickly pre and post surgery, especially Melissa the patient coordinator. Everyone at the office was really kind and made me feel so comfortable right before surgery. I would highly recommend him and his staff for any procedure. Overall, I think breast augmentation was definitely worth it.
