This is going to be all over the place because...

This is going to be all over the place because that is how my brain works, lol!
After years of wishing for a flat tummy I finally decided it was time to take the step and research my options. I am not a thin person but the issues that I had with my stomach were more than a few extra pounds. I had a pretty big separation of my stomach muscles due to my babies stretching out in the womb as well as some skin that hung over my undies. I tried for years to tighten my stomach but I found that it wasn't going to be possible. Enter my amazing PS Dr. Chad Tattini. He was my one and only consult and I know that is not typical nor do I recommend it (many people have multiple consultations) but I knew right away that he was the surgeon for me.
He spent as much time as I needed at each of my appointments, I asked 1,000 questions and some of them were probably pretty crazy. He was honest with me about the results that he could give me and it was painful to hear (I had more visceral fat than subcutaneous so I may not get the super flat results I as hoping for) but I am grateful for his honesty because even though I did a ton of research I had this fairytale version of me in my head and he kept it real.
My surgery went well and I went home the same day. I recently graduated with my BSN (like 4 days prior!) and had enough experience caring for patients that had large wounds, drains, pain etc. so I felt comfortable caring for myself with the help of my amazing husband. There is no way I could have done it without his help though, he did EVERYTHING for me. Real talk: the pain was UNREAL. I knew it would hurt but the type of pain was unlike anything I felt before and it was a new kind of pain each day.

Things that I could not live without:
1. My husband (get help, hire someone if you need to but you really do need someone there 24/7. You don't want to damage the magic that your surgeon just performed!)
2. A recliner
3. A walker (beg, borrow, buy or rent one!)
4. A seat riser for the toilet (best $35 I spent, I am very thrifty and didn't want to buy one but I gave in after about 6 hrs at home)
5. Maxi dresses (I have 3 that I rotate and they are the best! They hide the drains, they are cool and light, wash and dry easy and don't cling to the incision site. I never allowed myself to wear these before because I look 8 months pregnant but now I want to ONLY wear them, lol)
That is it. I didn't buy anything else outside of the norm. I eat fairly clean so that wasn't a problem, I take my vitamins (if you don't take them now be sure to get the ok from your PS to start one prior to sx) and don't smoke.
Whew that was long! I will post about an issue that I had at 10DPO another day but that is enough rambling for now!

I cannot say enough about Dr. Tattini and his staff. He was incredibly patient and honest with all of the questions and concerns that I threw at him. He is incredibly talented and it shows in his work. All of the staff that I came in contact with are fantastic. They were friendly and prompt and never made me feel like I was just a nameless patient going through a revolving door. Emails were answered in 24 hours or less. The office is clean and comfortable and tastefully decorated.
