My hair had been thinning badly and most rapidly...
My hair had been thinning badly and most rapidly over the past few years, leaving me with extreme hair loss in my front hairline and crown. After trying several methods including laser and chemical treatments to restore my hair, I decided to go with NeoGraft hair follicle extraction (FUE).
Finding the right Board Certified doctor was very important. I was impressed by Dr. Neavin's previous work and background in plastic surgery and after a quick intro meeting he was able to assess my situation, and gave me his honest opinion and strategy for treatment. I booked an appointment right away.
The staff was very friendly and listened to all of my concerns and particular requirements. The procedure was virtually painless (this is a surgical procedure so expect some discomfort at first from local anesthetic in the treatment areas), from then on it's easy.
The entire job only took a day in a single session, spread out between breaks. They expertly treated the area with clinical precision and I was surprised how quickly and easily the process went. They were also very accommodating and attentive throughout the procedure.
They explained the after care instructions thoroughly and by nightfall I was sleeping great. I was getting along fine the next day doing my daily routines as normal, with some expected discomfort from swelling but this was manageable.
The healing was much faster than I had anticipated. In 3 days the swelling had completely gone, the doner areas in back where the follicles were extracted had completely healed. There are no scars, no visible signs of anything done to the skin. The surrounding hair, even while still very short, grows back perfectly naturally covering the doner area.
The newly grafted hair will leave scabbing at first that will clear up in about two weeks, mine were very minimal by the first week. You can see clearly the new hair growing in the scalp where there was no hair before, it's pretty incredible. Again, the treated grafted area looks natural with no sigs of anything done.
For myself, hair loss was crushing to my self esteem and had effected my personal and professional life. What surprised me most was the way I felt looking in a mirror even days after the procedure and seeing a filled natural looking hairline, for the first time in years I felt like myself again.
