4 weeks post - small drama
Have not posted for a while as everything was going smoothly until 5 days ago.
Had 2 weeks in Bali rest and relaxing. Morning walk, swim in pool, (up to neck) eating healthy food
I had some minor bruising on one of my cheeks but I felt really fantastic. My ears have been great, can sleep on my side, use phone, wear glasses. Started chewing food after about 9 days of soft foods. No pain killers or pain in general.
Got back to Oz and next day noticed a dry red spot appearing on left side of face near my ear. PANIC, should not look at internet and self diagnose. Anyway it did get a little larger more raised and inflamed over the next 5 days. with small white pimples etc etc. Bottom line is I went to a dermatologist today who told me it was nothing related to the surgery or facelift and and was an irritated age spot, turning into a mole. I do have a history of these. What a relief as I am heading for an extended trip o/s next week.
I am very happy with my healing though I do have a slight indent near my right cheek. Hoping this will work itself out when the bruising goes down and sutures settle. I don't mention it and no-one seems to notice. You see it more with down lights. Yes still a little hard around cheeks, jaws and slight numbing but not nearly as bad as I expect. My energy levels are fine. I am taking a stack of vitamins and minerals and eating a very low salt/sugar diet. I am a vegetarian and even in Bali we were preparing most of our own food.
Have had lots of positive feed back saying how natural and great it looks. So, yes happy with it all.
It is still only early days. Doctor Poomee has said wait until 6 weeks or more to see everything settled. He was great when I had my minor melt down re the mole on face. Answered emails promptly and was honest with his response. I can not recommend him highly enough.

9th March 1 week post op
Saw doctor Amorn Poomee today for stitches to be removed. All good , he was happy with the progress but said it would be 6 weeks until everything settled down . Lumps, bumps, swelling.
Best thing is I don't have to wear the face wrap 24/7 . I am now deveiled during the day but have to continue wearing it at night and if I am at home.
More bruising has appeared in the last couple of days around neck and one on left cheek. Also some lumps on other cheek.
I am not concerned as from what I have read its a normal stage of the healing.
I have started with scar gel , antibiotic ointment around back of ears and last night some evening primrose oil gently dabbed on face.
I have so far had no pain and in myself feel really positive and happy with my decision to have done this.
The last couple of nights have walked to a complex where we have been having dinner, just to get out and move a little.
I did venture out to weekend market for a couple of hours on Sunday, I couldn't help myself . I love that market and always go when I am in Bangkok. I left here early and only stayed 3hrs, as it does get hot and crowded. Must say I was happy to get back on the airconned Skytrain.
Off to Bali tomorrow for some more relaxation.

Dr Amorn and his lovely wife , also a nurse, were outstanding. From the initial email correspondence to our first appointment before and after surgery care I could not have been happier . Answered all my emails promptly, and very reassuring when we discussed the procedure. I came away feeling I had made the right choice not only for the doctor but also to have the facelift.
