5wk update

I saw the PS today as a scheduled appointment. I was able to ask the questions that I had been thinking about. He explained the reason I have a vertical scar is because I didn't really have much excess skin (about 600grams). He would have had to move the horizontal scar up higher to avoid the vertical scar. I believe he made the right decision. It will fade in time and now at least my hernia is gone, my split tummy muscles are fixed and 600gram of excess skin is gone. Win, win, win.
He said that I no longer have to wear my binder (yay! Except my back has to get used to not having that support). Feels weird not wearing it!
He said that the repair is at about 80% strength at 6 wks and it's fine to start introducing low impact exercise (such as more walks and ok to gradually start jogging - say for 50m jog and 50m walk etc til I get my strength and fitness up).
Sex is fine (his actual words were... You've lasted this long? Lol) he said by 3 months the repair is at full strength.
The dog ears can be revised if they are really worrying me (in about 4months) but that would entail making the scar longer.
Other than that he was pretty happy. I didn't have much swelling (clearly need to work on my belly! Lol)
That's about it for today :-) happy healing! :-)

Week 5 photos. Dog ears more prominent

Looking forward to getting back into exercise to work on this figure! I'm not sure what my options are with the puffy dog ear appearance near my belly button. I'm a bit concerned that when I do get back to exercising that this will only get worse as I lose a bit of weight and get toned. :-(

How's this for a before photo!!

This is me with probably another week or two to go before my son was born. Still blows my mind how far a belly can stretch!! Slight difference I guess! Ha!
