I'm having smart lipo on my abdomen next week and am super scared. I've always had a lower-abdominal pouch and finally made the decision to get lipo about 5 months ago.

I keep feeling like I will back out. Its almost like I'm scared to have a flat tummy. I literally can't imagine it--- like at all! I feel like I will cry...or even miss my rolls. Which is crazy b/c I am disgusted at them l daily. I know this post is all over the place. I'm just super emotional about it all. I've never had surgery before, so I just don't really know what to expect.

Reading the posts on this website is helpful. I swear it calms me down. I know there is a potential for this to go wrong, but I am going to really pray and hope that all goes well. I'll keep you all up to date. Please pray with me that all goes well!

Day of treatment

I had my procedure today and it went really well! He ended up doing my abdomen and flanks and it was not painful at all. I felt pressure, but that was about it--- seriously. The doctor, nurse and I chatted the entire time. 8 hours later and I am still not feeling any pain or am uncomfortable. I'm just super swollen. I pretty much look like a balloon. I was given SinEcch pills (professional strength arnica pills), so I'm hoping that that will help. As it stands no bruising...but that could change by tomorrow. The compression garment is not too bad either.I'm wondering how I will feel tomorrow. I hope its not too bad. I mean..I feel normal now and want to keep it that way. Fingers crossed!

My post op appt is in 4 days and I'm having my first lymphatic massage in 7. I'm looking fwd to both. I really can't imagine what my stomach is going to look like. I hope it turns out to be what I was look for-- pouch free.

I'll post some post opp pics once the swelling goes down. I really hope this turns out okay.

Day 2: I woke up feeling a little sore. But it wasn't super bad. I'm still swollen, but that is expected of course. It may have gone down just a little bit. I've only adjusted the compression garment to go to the restroom, and that's really the only time I see my tummy. I see a crease...and I'm hoping it disappears. For the most part my tummy looks the same as it did pre-smart lipo. But I know for sure that fat was taken out b/c I clearly saw the whole procedure and fat canister thingy. Stay tuned....

Day 3: No pain at all. It just feels like I did a bunch of ab exercises. In my opinion i look the same pre-op. How long before I see results. I mean..i know it take up to 6 months to see the final results, but I mean...I literally look the same.

Day 5: The PS took out my stitches yesterday (Day 4). He agreed that I had some swelling and that some of the fluid hadn't absorbed. He then said that it would go down about 1 to 2 inches. I really hope it does, b/c I still pretty much look the same. I know I have to be patient, but this is frustrating. Did anyone else have this issue? I feel like all the pics that are posted have people looking super slim at Day 2!

My next check up is in 3 weeks. I'm praying my stomach goes down. But in the mean time, I start my lymphatic massages in 2 days. He said that will help as well.

1 week Post op: I took 1wk pics and compared them to pre-op pics and I look exactly the same!! Patience...patience...I know. Sigh.....

I had my lymphatic massage today. I'm still sore, so the massage really hurt, but I'm sure it will be worth it. I'm looking forward to the increased drainage from the massage and plan to go weekly foe the next 2 months for sure. I also ordered my stage 2 compression garment and can't wait to get into it. I hear the stage 2 garment is tighter and will help with results. I'll start wearing it next Thursday. No pain, no gain, LOL!

Hey Brit. I have come to learn that with lipo patience is a virtue. It's the hardest part of this journey, waiting to see results. Get some pics up, you might have already made some changes but not able to see them through your eyes. We are all in the same boat and can help each other.

Thanks for sharing! I am strongly considering the procedure and I am a hefty one..but my stomach doesn't match my body. I am in the area and I would like to see your experience (hoping this will help me make my mind up on where to go) or I'll just go to LA and have it done... hope you post pics soon... were in this together ;)

Hey Brit...Congrats on ur procedure...I know exactly how u feel and what ur going thru...feel free to read my blog...I think alot of questions will be answered for you....the biggest KEY of this whole procedure is PATIENCE and its not fun...I am 17 wks post op and still hoping for tummy to go down more...u will be swollen for a while...again read my blog and let me know if I can help any further...Happy Healing hun :)
