My journey so far...Surgery was 9/1/15

IM only two days away from having my surgery. I am 5'7" and starting weight was 377.I have been on the preop diet since 8/17/15 and as of today i have lost 18 pounds. It was hard at first. On day three i broke down and cried over buttered noodles...BUTTERED NOODLES...lol. I have been fine since. I am starting to get nervous, but im excited to lose this weight and not have pain in my knees and back...wish me luck!!

Well, folks....here I am six days post op and i must admit im feeling ok. My energy is still low but i guessing that will return in time. I have lost a total of 29 pounds since starting the preop diet. I did have some nausea but that seems to be getting better also. My biggest problem is I have had an allergic reaction to the internal sutures which has caused the incisions to be very red and itchy. Not infected in any way. The incisions dont even hurt anymore. I informed the doctor on call and have been trying ice and anti itch cream. I also feel like ive done a thousand push ups, my stomach muscles are so sore. Im looking forward to starting protein shakes tomorrow as I have been on straight 100% juice mixed with equal parts water. Curious to see how fast the weight continues to come off....Good Luck everyone!!

well Im going back to work tomorrow. Hope im ready. I must admit, ive had a pretty rough recovery. For the first three day i had horrible pain(my doc said she had to suture into muscle), i had an allergic reaction to the dermabond(my incisions were soooo itchy) and the gas pain in my shoulder still comes and goes. Im not able to drink anywhere near 64 ounces of water..but i dont think im dehydrated(i know the signs and urine is nice and light) And i cannot for the life of me get confotable enough to slepp in my bed all night. Praying for healing and that i will feel better every day...
