Today is day 4, and I am certainly not ready to go out in public.  On day 3, I woke up and my face was extremely swollen and red.  More so than the previous 2 days.  I called the Dr, and apparently, i am having some kind of reaction -- maybe to the Aquaphor.  He prescribed Prednisone, and today I visited his office.  He told me that in 2 more days i should be fine (that will be day 6).  Thank goodness I took this whole week off from work !  Today, i am still swollen and very red.  The swelling around my mouth has gone down, and to tell you the truth, I still have wrinkles above my lip.  They were not that bad before, but I noticed them and it bothered me.  I still don't know what the immediate results will be after my skin looks somewhat normal.  Will let u know what happens.

I had the Active FX done on Saturday, June 28, In Doylestown. Paid $1500; if i have subsequent treatments, they will cost $750. The doctor recommends having them done twice per year for anti-aging.

I'm 53 and have some crows feet & sagging. Also have lines above my lip from smoking. Also have a couple brown spots from sun damage.

The pain was tolerable.I think it depends on each person. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. Although I found the icy like air blowing on my skin was more uncomfortable than the laser itself.

The first day i was pretty swolen & felt like i had sun poisening on my face. Today is the second day, and my skin is still very red, still swolen (not as bad), hundreds of brown dots all over my face, and my skin is starting to itch. They gave me a gentle cleanser & aquaphor to apply (mostly like vaseline) several times per day. The down time is supposed to be 4 days; but I highly doubt that in 2 more days I will be able to go in public; but we'll see.

It's hard to tell if there is any difference because of the redness & brown spots. Because my face is still a little swolen, it appears that all the wrinkles have disappeared; but i will not be able to tell until all the swelling has gone down since this is why the wrinkles are not visible.

I don't know the outcome yet, but i will post again when all the swelling has gone down & after my face peels.
