I'm Japanese-American so of course by genetics, my eyelashes are sparse and hard to curl.

I'm in week 6 and still haven't seen any real results in length or darkening. Is anyone else who is Asian having this same issue?

Updated on 28 Jan 2011:
I didn't start noticing real results well into my 8th week. It DOES work but I just can't afford it anymore.

Hi! I am not asian and I've only been using the product for 2 weeks. I would advise you to be patient and use the product for the full 14 weeks, then make a decision at that time to stao using it if it hasn't worked for you or contuine if it kicks in down the line. This stuff works differently on everyone, so just be patient and use it for the full 16 weeks. By the way where di you purchase it? On line, Dr. Pharmacy... Let me know!

Yeah, I'm going to keep going forward. The product is way too expensive to stop now. As for your question, I went locally through a private practice dermatologist, not through my general physician. Called, no appointment needed, walked in, was assessed, walked out 30 mins later with latisse. It also helped that the esthetician had used latisse and it worked for her.

it took me at least 3 months to see any results, but by the 4th month 80% of my lashs were longer, still waiting for the last 20% (small area) to grow in. keep using it and be patient. you will see results!

I'm Asian American also and I been using it on and off for a month now (sometimes I'm too tired to apply it on my eyelids - so its been almost every other night I apply them) and I noticed an increase in eyelashes but not in length. So far so good! I have only 4 set of brush left and that's from the first box.

I'm also Asian and have been using it for 2 months. I have not noticed any noticeable difference, but will continue for another 2 months. I will post again at that time.

I have been using Latisse for 5 weeks now and I do notice a little longer and slightly darker. I have very light brown lashes and I more that anything I want them to be dark. I will continue for the full 16 weeks but it is expensive. What is the online website to buy the Lumigan or Bimatoprost?

what about people who have super long lashs and they want to make them longer? does neone think they will still grow?

A week 10 update: I have 1 super long eyelash on my left eye. I still apply latisse routinely every night. They might be getting a bit thicker but the length still hasn't shown any noticeable signs of growth, with the exception of that 1 eyelash. I'm currently on my second box of latisse and I'll continue to update.

I'm Asian American, and have been using Latisse for 4 months now. My lashes are longer, but not really thicker. I do believe that Asians have to be more patient with Latisse, it took more than two months for me to begin seeing a difference in my lashes. Our genetic make-up just isn't condusive to having long gorgeous lashes. I'll continue to use Latisse daily for another month before I go on the maintenance program.

Thank you, Judes. I agree that we do have to be more patient. I appreciate your feedback :)

I am almost completing week 6. When you are assessing the results try using a magnifying mirror so you can see the details. It works. I virtually had little thin weak lashes. At almost week 6 I have very thick, dark lashes that are full and are growing in length. Make sure you are applying the solution properly. There are online videos to show you how.

I am asian american and I have been using this product for 14 weeks now. I have thicker lashes but not noticeably longer lashes. In some area the lashes are spikey long but they all grow in unevenly and messy. I now have dark circles around my upper and lower lids. I have to wear concealers every morning otherwise I will have raccoon eyes. I do not apply latisse to my lower lashes. I do however applied them to my eyebrows. My eyebrows are thicker and longer. They seem to grow faster than my lashes. I have better results with my eyebrows than my lashes. Although brows hair did NOT grow back in the scarred area of my eyebrow. I went out and bought a thin eyeliner brush (Laura Mercier fine point eye liner...very expensive but so worth it!!!) which helped alot in applying one drop to both eyes. I am able to use this brush with one drop of latisse for my eyebrows and my lashes. I still have a 1/2 bottle of latisse left after 14 weeks. Also, I rinse my brush everynight using a small drop of Bobbi Brown conditioning brush cleanser. I am told this will prolong the life of my brush. Pros:I actually had 2 compliments this week regarding the thickness of my lashes. As far as longer lashes?? Not so long... I guess this is as good as it gets for asians. Sorry girls.. :( Cons: In my first 2-3 weeks, I did have bloodshots eyes but it went away. Also my vision are little blurry now. Not sure if its the side effects from Latisse. Also I have dark circles around my eyes.

I am happy to report that my eyelashes are finally starting to produce noticeable result and I've had many compliments on them. The patience did pay off!

I am currently researching as much as I can about Latisse before actually purchasing it. (I found a great deal, 2 bottles of Latisse for $75!!) I too, am an Asian American and have ALWAYS wanted longer, thicker lashes. I've done eyelash extensions and had a good experience with them but I would much rather spend money on something that will make MY own lashes longer. Most my questions and concerns have been answered by reading everyone's comments but I had a few more questions if you don't mind my asking.
How long does a bottle of Latisse last?
Is it true that you have to use it everyday for the first 4 months but after that, applying it once or twice a week is fine and will maintain your long lashes?
And lastly, Has anyone else been having a problem with dark circles as a side effect?

lauramnp56 2 Sep 2011
I have been using Latisse for 17 weeks now. According to the instructions you have to use it everyday for 16 weeks. Then to maintain use it every other day. I followed the instructions and my lashes are amazing! Longer, thicker and so naturally dark I never have to use mascara.

I'm Asian with typical sparse, stubby, short lashes. I used Latise for about 5 months. I loved it, but got lazy and stopped using it for a while, and now I'm back. Keep at it and be patient. I didn't start seeing noticeable results until about week 10 and then the results seemed to manifest much more quickly. By week 12, I finally had eye lashes long enough to curl. (Yes, my lashes in their natural state are TOO short to stick into a lash curler). By week 16, I stopped using mascara - there was no point since my lashes were long enough to brush against the lenses of my sunglasses whenever I blinked. I saw more lengthening than thickening of my lashes (I guess everyone reacts differently), but it was completely worth it.
