What type of night guard should I get for my dental veneers? I've recently had veneers placed, and I have a slight bruxism habit. I've always used a night guard and would like to purchase a new one. Should it be rigid or soft? Do I need one for each arch, or is one for the lower arch sufficient?
I got 6 veneers a few days ago and was told to wear a plastic mouthguard to prolong my veneers. I know I dont grind or clench my jaw when I sleep, so do I have to wear it? They plastic piece hurts extremely bad and feels as if my front tooth is being forced backwards. I bought a rubber mouthguard and molded it to my mouth, could I wear that instead? I can not fall asleep with the plastic one given to me by the dentist, but I can with the rubber one.
I have worn down teeth from grinding when I was younger, and for the last 10 years I have slept with a mouth guard. But unfortunately I also have a bite that makes Bruxism, in danish it's called a deep/low bite. My dentist want me to get braces and then dental bonding on the lower/upper 6 teeth. My problem is, I don't like the fact that they stain, and braces are very expensive. So will porcelain/zirconium veneers be an option for both power and lower teeth, so they will be aligned? Thanks :)
A few days after I had them placed I was in a lot of pain, my dentis put me on antibiotics in case of infection but later ruled out infection and said I was grinding my teeth. I now wear mouth guards for top and bottom teeth and its not very comtortable I have a lot of sensitivity and also a constant ache in my gums. i can still feel some of the origianal tooth on the back side of the veneer. Any advice would be appreciated! I just paid $18,000 Im so terrified that it was a huge mistake
Hi all, I have 8 porcelain veneers on my top teeth. I am unhappy with my never ending bite issues (tried it all, adjustments, mouth guard) and shade (current is B2). I've heard that you can only redo them so many times because each time more enamel must be removed. This is worrying me. What does this mean for me if I choose to redo them? That the bond won't be strong? That they will fall off? Is this now a risk? Finally, what do you think of my current veneers? Are they well done? Thanks
Hello. I have 12 veneers/crowns placed on my top teeth, and my dentist recommended a night guard to protect the restorations from damage. I have been wearing it religiously the last five months, but have noticed a change in my bite. When I had the treatment performed in June, there was less space between my top and bottom front teeth. This space seems to have increased. I wear the mouthguard on my bottom teeth. Is it possible that the mouth guard is pushing my lower jaw or teeth back?
I have had Veneers puton my top two front teeth. And my private Dentist had a custom NightGuard made also for me. I have worn it two nights now. However, It tends to feel a little tight, and feels like its putting an awful lot of pressure on my Veneers. Also when I come to take it out in the morning, I really have to pull it out of my mouth. therefor I am really pulling it away from my Veneers. My Veneers feel really different now.. Could all this damage or pull them out?
