I had a neck lift along with a facelift and upper and lower blepharoplasty 19 days ago. At day 12 my surgeon told me to start massaging my neck left to right right to left. It was very painful and my neck swelled quite a lot. Now I am at 19 days and this still makes my neck swell. My doctor had me massaging the scars on my eyes at 12 days which turned out to not be such a great idea. Thus far, it feels like an even worse idea for my neck.
Had a necklift and lower facelift revision four weeks ago exactly. Am very concerned about the way my necklift scar is healing (the scars around my ears are absolutely fine). Big bumps at either end of the scar (dog ears?) which are visible below the line of my jaw when looked at straight on. Cannot get to see my doctor until 22 March. Nurse from the surgery says the bumps are perfectly normal and will subside, and approved my massaging them with Bio Oil. Please tell me: am I right to be concerned?
I had a face/neck lift 5months ago to get rid of the unsightly platysma bands and bagging under chin andtighten jowls . I am concerned as the two bands are still there and i have pulling under my chin which is pretty unsightly and I feel no better off. My Jowls are also still there. I had my 3 month review and the consultant said I have a thin neck which doesnt hide anything and massage the pulling and tightness. Which i have been doing but nothings changing. I am concerned.I am 57.
I am 4 weeks neck lift and lipo post-op. I have had a lump under chin for a few weeks. My PS advise me to apply hard massage to the area 3 times a day he said its scar tissue. I have done this and its Made no difference yet. Also some swelling along the jawline on one side. The swellings are not hot orRed. Im going back in 3 weeks to see my PS. Im just worried. Is this usual and if it will settle down with time. Any advise is appreciated.
Had a neck lift 9 days ago and the drain was removed day 4. I noticed last few days that I have some fluid build up where drain was, my doctor said to massage area gently. He didnt seem concerned. I started massaging yesterday and I feel like there is a little more fluid visible today. Is this normal? Any feedback would be appreciated. TIA
Upon drain removal, firm, ropelike protusion presented below drain line. If I noticed swelling prior to drain removal I attributed to drain -caused swelling. PS stated this was where incision of neck ended and that massage should be done. Platysmaplasty performed. No lipo. No improvement, if anything, feels tighter on my neck. I return to PS next week. I maintain faith I am in good hands. Just soliciting similar cases to appease my nerves. Thank you!
See pictures. This area looks much worse now than it did 2 weeks after surgery (except that the bruising is gone). Will this area soften/relax? I'm very self-conscious about it. From a profile view, there isn't much improvement from a pre-surgery profile view. I'm 60 years old. I've been massaging gently twice a day with cocoa butter per PS's instructions. My last checkup was at 3 months. She thinks everything looks fine. I'm not scheduled to see her again until month 7. Thanks in advance.
I have a skin ridge that developed 24 hours after my lower face lift. The surgeon states my skin fell over onto itself and stuck together The ridge runs from my low neck to behind my right ear. About 4 inches long and a quarter inch thick. I am 59 and had a bad turkey neck. My surgeon has been practicing for over 35 years. His treatment is for me to massage the area twice a day above on and below the ridge. I am 2/1/2 weeks post op. Will the massage make this go away? It is so ugly.
