I have a mole on the inside part of my toe. My dermatologist examined it and referred me to a plastic surgeon since he said a specialist surgeon would need to remove it and I would likely have stitches and be in a splint for several weeks after removal. My question is -- what does this procedure most likely entail? Will I have local anesthetics or IV sedation? How does this usually work?
I suddenly developed a smudge under my toenail which i didn't think anything of then realised it was a mole. I had it checked by a mole nurse and a picture taken and was told it needs re checking in 3 months which is july. I am worried thats too long. Does it need a biopsy?
I had a mole between my toes removed. It was a benign irregular mole but per my dermotologist it had to come off. I had stitches put in. Itll be 3 weeks in 3 days and it just has not healed. I have a hole between my toes. I went in to have stitches removed 2 days ago the derm said it looked fine. Im concerned on how its going to heal with an open wound like that. I also have a slit going across and it hasnt fused shut. Will it close shut and will the hole between my toes close up as well?
I had a mole excision on my toe with a full thickness skin graft performed 2 1/2 weeks ago. It still is very swollen and tender. I am starting to get worried about infection. I have an appointment with my Dr. but can't get in for another week. Just wondering if this look like a normal healing for this procedure. Thank you in advance for you input.
I'm not too concerned about it but I became curious about what the Dr. said afterwards, he just said the mole was deep. I guess he expected the entire mole to be removed during the procedure so I just wanted to know if deep moles are anything to be worried about?
I was really worried so i looked it up, and the first thing that showed up was MELANOMA. I've told my parents many times that it is definitely a sign of foot melanoma, and they said they would take me to the doctor but i just can't wait!!! All i can think about now is how by the time they do take me, how much it could have spread. I could lose my TOE or even my ENTIRE FOOT if I don't act quick!!!!
I've had this mole(?) between my two toes for at least 10 years. No changes other than when it gets wet it gets flakey. I had a biopsy done as a precaution but with the holidays hearing anything back is taking forever! I did notice when I had to put polysporin on it after the biopsy it seemed to lighten a bit. It's never bled or gotten itchy. Never really grown.
I have a few moles that concern me, especially one on the side of my toe and sole of my foot. I have already made an appt with my derm and emailed him, he said it looks early and a shave should work fine but from what I understand a shave is not enough to remove melanoma, wouldn't it be best to just excise it then and there? Also concerning me is the location- if I have excisions on my toe and foot will I be off my feet for a considerable amount of time? Is it more invasive in those areas?
Hiya I have quite a lot of bruising to the posterior of my toe and a little on the opposite side from my punch biopsy. It has been a week and a half now. How much longer will the bruising last? I presume this is where the local anaesthetic went in?. This is more painful than the actual wound Thanks
