My physical therapist told me that my diastasis recti is only one finger width and it is only at the top of my navel. I know I do have a large amount of fat and loose skin below my belly button. I have soreness/ tenderness and a pulling feeling in that lower region from right above my pelvic bone to about an inch below the bottom of my navel. Ive had 3 cesareans, my question is could this lower area be protruding for another reason, I do have bladder prolapse. 5'7 160lb
DR + umbilical hernia developed over time likely due to weak core + improper form/straining during lifting weights. Abdomen further distends throughout the day as solids and liquids are consumed. 1) Can specific exercises reverse my DR? 2) If surgery is warranted (other than for the umbilical hernia), is it possible I will be left with a visible vertical scar? 3) Best to consult a surgeon that specializes in DR repair for male pts even if I have to travel as opposed to seeing a general surgeon?
Need some guidance on a very complicated issue but I will simplify because of space and am open to calls or emails for details afterwards. I had a surgery revision for a diastasis that I never had in the first place. The 2nd Dr tightened my fascia and also lipo' my planks which I never requested, causing some contour irregularities but he also tightened my fascia with 5-0 prolene sutures. The issue is that I have breathing issues and need them removed. Is it possible to revise or reverse?
Ive had 2 tummy tucks one in 2016 & 2017 both times soon after my stomach bulged out again. I dont have any cysts or mass or any gastrointestinal issues nor pain so I believe I have Diastasis Recti. Can this be fixed all I want is my stomach to be flat.
Hi, I had a muscle repair over 6 months ago from the navel down. Pre surgery it measured at 3.5cm and I went for an ultrasound yesterday and it measured 2cm. Is this an acceptable gap within normal perimeters or did the plastic surgeon mess up? Or could it still be scar tissue between the muscles showing as a 2cm gap?
40 yo female, avid lifter. I went in because while I had abdominal definition my stomach wasnt flat flat. The doctor claimed he could make it flat, now the small bulges I had are more amplified and I look like I have a fupa. My scar is massive too and hurts. Im unsure what to do as this has taken a toll on my appearance and mental health. I own a gym so the way I look after the surgery is unacceptable. Can this be fixed? What can I do?
Having Gallblader issues for 10 years. Singular stone the size of a peace pit, causing Charlie horsing in abdomin once every 4 months. The past 6 months, Charlie horsing increased in frequency to once a month, I also started weight training. Abdominal injury caused diastasis Recti - noticeable bulge in abdomin when I do crunches. I also plan to get tummy tuck and gynocomastia surgery. I heard gallbladder surgery might prevent TT. Is this true? Should I do TT first? Ill NEED both done.
(2 kids, 6&8) 56 130lbs Im wanting to know if a tummy tuck with diastasis repair will help with the abdominal pressure and upper ab gripping my PT says Im unconsciously doing. Ive done lots of PT it helps some but if I ever stop issues slowly come back and Im tired of feeling broken. Id love to see results from working out instead of the mom pooch and constant weakness of my core. Ive heard it helps with lower back pain but I wasnt sure about the outward pressure at the DR. Thanks
I'm 31YO female (161cm/50kgs) and had an intestinal resection in December 2018 which left me with a caesarean like scar. I noticed that sometimes my stomach bends in when I sit up in a certain way, sometimes it's worse, others subtle. Is this Diastasis Recti? I only can find information stating this affects mothers. So I have no idea how I ended up with this. Attached photos.
Okay so all these pictures are me I'm able to hide it well I try to work out alot to lose weight But it seems my stomach always gives me a hard time. 1 minute I look okay then the next minute I'm sad and confused.
