I am 36 years old and have used Invisalign to help with my overbite and lip competence but I still have quite a gummy smile, some lip incompetence, facial assymetry, and jowls. What would be the best options for this?
Many years ago I was told that I needed a frenectomy prior to braces. I went to a different othrodontist because I was scared of the procedure at 10 years old. Now Im wondering if the reason my smile is so gummy is due to my frenum. I had Botox once and enjoyed the results, but would like a more permanent fix. Pictures attached.
I've seen two procedures advertised for correcting a short upper lip and gummy smile. A lip flip where botox is injected at four points, two on the left and two on the right at the lateral vermillion border. And gummy smile botox with injections on either side of the nose. Is one placement better than the other? Do they achieve different things?
My lips look bigger when i smile because the top lip rolls up, but my nose tip also pulls down so I get this little pocket of shadow. Between my deviated septum causing my tip to become uneven and age (44) i dislike smiling photos because the shadow gives it a witchy/birdlike vibe. It created a wrinkle in the philtrum area from years of smiling like this. I cant smile differently, ive tried, it looks weird. Jessica Biel has a similar smile but I cant find what its called or how to treat it.
I got Botox to try and even out my lip when I talk, but I did NOT have a gummy smile. I do not think that going the botox for gummy smile route was the best idea now that I am dealing with a wonky nostril due to the asymmetrical injection. My question is, will my nostril ever go back to normal? It has been 4 months
