I am 9 weeks post op from a Tummy Tuck. How long will it take the swelling below my belly button to go away?

Swelling after tummy tuck is to be expected for months after surgery. The time frame for resolution varies from person to person and can be unpredictable. For patients with prolonged swelling, I recommend continued compression garment usage. I would first check in with your physician to make sure the swelling is within normal range. Moderate to severe swelling can occassionally occur normally after tummy tuck surgery and I have seen it take 6-12 months to resolve.  There is not much you can do to speed resolution. My best advice would be to stay patient, follow a healthy diet, and gradually resume light exercise if ok with your doctor. Any weight gain will negatively influence your result.

In all likelihood you are experiencing
swelling. The abdominoplasty is a big procedure and swelling will occur
for 4 to 6 months if you take a little too much sodium. Use a salt
substitute. Use an abdominal binder at night. Drink lots of water.
Time will solve all this. Obviously do not gain fat weight.
