Peter Boulden, DMD answers: Dental veneers: Lumineer vs. Davinci vs. Empress

I would like to know why dentists pick a particular type of veneer. Lumineer vs. Davinci vs. Empress veneers. Please tell me which you pick to use and why? Thank you.

There are really only two types of veneers- Pressed and Feldspathic.

An example of Pressed is Empress and Empress Esthetic. THey are the most common type of porcelain for veneers. Most cosmetic dentists that I know utilize pressed ceramics.

DaVinci and Lumineers are actually trade names. Lumineers name is owned by Den-Mat corporation. Da Vinci veneers are specific to Da Vinci laboratory.

It it were my teeth- I would request Empress Esthetic, Authentic, or Noritake porcelain systems (pressed).
