I am a mother of 4 children. I had my first child at the age of 16. I was told that because of my young age my skin stretched a lot, hence all the stretch marks. Ever since I have had a lot of loose skin in that area is there anything that I can do to tighten it without surgery???
Answer: Non Surgical Tummy Skin Tightening Usually Disappointing For Loose Skin and Stretch Marks
Thank you for your question. There are many non surgical skin tightening methods available including Thermage, LuxIR Deep, Titan, Ulthera and others.
The best results of non surgical skin tightening of the Tummy are about 20% improvement. This can be helpful in younger patients who have a small amount of loose skin.
However, from your description I would guess that there is significant loose skin on your abdomen and the stretch marks indicate significant skin damage. Most likely a Tummy Tuck or Abdominoplasty will be required for a satisfactory result.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Some patients with loose skin on their abdomen can be helped..... I would agree with many of the other comments below. One treatment that I have been impressed with is a variation of the use of the Smartlipo laser. This has typically been used to "melt fat" before removal with liposuction. However, using the laser AFTER the fat has been extracted, makes the Smartlipo laser much more efficient at heating the under-surface of the skin, making it a much more powerful tool employing very transient increases in temperature to result in tightening. Please visit the link to see my video about how to avoid the scar from a tummy tuck on my Youtube channel.

Answer: Nonsurgical Stomach Skin Tightening -- Vanquish, truSculpt, Venus, Exilis, Cellutone/ZWave vs VASER Hi-Def Lipo & Tummy Tuck In truth, nonsurgical options give only mild improvement compared to surgical lifting. Skin tightening can be done with a combination of Vanquish, truSculpt iD, Venus Legacy, Exilis, Cellutone/Zwave. However, for best results, a Tummy Tuck procedure can be combined with a high definition procedure at the same time. For best results, I recommend VASER HI-DEF Liposuction with ThermiRF, Renuvion, InMode BodyTite and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a hi-definition physique expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Skin tightening the tummy We have a lot of ways to tighten the skin. The number one issues is typically sun damage and/or superficial fat loss. We have developed a new series of treatments using abrasion techniques along with different wavelengths of light to target discoloration, fine wrinkles and shadowing problems. Even fat transfer, fillers and other radiofrequency devices are showing good promise in this field. The key is to be critical, be specific about what bothers you and we can use the many tools available to us to target that part of your anatomy. This can range from volumizers to superficial tightening techniques as I mentioned above. Hope this helps. Best of luck, DrC

Answer: How to tighten abdominal skin without surgery? I am a big proponent in this area. It is important to have a consultation from a surgeon experienced in this procedure as many women are not good candidates for it. This is best for individuals with mild to early-moderate skin excess/laxity. It will not treat excess fat (need liposuction). However, for those who are good candidates for this, it is a nice way to go. You will not have the same degree of tightening as with an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) but if you are against surgery, this may be for you. The best technology at the current time (in my opinion) is BodyTite. I believe this to be an improvement over the previous ThermiTight. I have used both of these technologies. It is essentially radiofrequency energy "injected" under the skin using a subcutaneous probe. I believe that this has surpassed laser technology which does not reach the target tissues with the same degree of energy and efficiency. One note of caution - this will probably not do much for stretch marks, but then again, I have not been impressed with anything else I have seen for this problem, either.

Answer: Improve your skin without surgery Yes, tightening lasers (ultrasound or radio frequency) work by heating up the dermis and stimulation collagen formation and giving you a bit firmer skin. You may also consider an ablative resurfacing lasers to improve texture of the stretch marks. Most patients often need multiple treatments for optimal outcome.
