Treatment for Brown Spots on Forehead and Back?

Growing up, my mom always told me not to pick at the bumps in my face, and I had to be hard-headed and did it anyway. Now, I have brown spots on my forehead and I really want to have clear skin. What can I take or use to get rid of these brown spots on my face (forehead) and back? If it is needed I can submit pictures for you to examine and let me know your expert opinion.
