I had two surgeries to address the bridge and tip of my nose respectively. They were both performed open and did not involve correcting any work done prior. I am wondering what the waiting time for a third surgery would be- does the nature of the third surgery (deprojection) make a difference?
Answer: How long should I wait before a third surgery The length of time you should wait before considering revision surgery varies for each individual. As a general guideline, waiting at least one year is recommended, but in many cases, a longer waiting period may be more beneficial. The decision depends on the complexity and invasiveness of your initial procedure.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can understand from your question first of all, a detailed examination is required, it will be enough to wait 6 months. It would be better face to face consultation. Best Regards!

Answer: Wait you should absolutely wait at least the full year from your last surgery, esp if both were open procedures - that means your nose skin has been compromised twice already and you want to give it the best chance of survival before putting it under another surgery. out of curiosity, why didn't you have all of this addressed in one surgery? It's not a good idea to constantly come up with "new" ideas of how you want your nose to look. I strongly recommend take some time in this year as you heal to figure out exactly wht it is you want, make sure that's what you want, and make sure that you go to an experienced surgeon so that this ends up being the last surgery you ever need on your nose.

Answer: Wait time for tertiary surgery Hello,Each time the nose is operated, the skin is lifted from its attachments, then heals back down. This disrupts blood flow and creates scar tissue, even when addressing only a single area of the nose. Waiting a year allows for more healing, and also allows more time for other potential issues to come to light. Depending on what is being done, your surgeon might even instruct you to do certain massages or inject the nose with steroids to give the best possible results for a 3rd surgery. Each case is very specific and there are cases where surgery can be done sooner, but that requires an individualized plan. So even though it's OK to consult with surgeons as soon as you believe a revision is needed, most will opt to wait 1 year, and sometimes even longer. Hope that helps! Good luck!

Answer: Tertiary rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. It really depends on your individual anatomy. In some patients I will recommend waiting one year. In other patients you could do a revision as soon as eight months safely. But it depends on what the specific issues are. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
