I had breast augmentation with crease incision silicone 450ccs right breast, 425ccs left breast, about 1.5 year ago. unfortunately, My scars appear hypertrophic to me and much worse than any of my friends' scars who have had the same surgery. I also have pain in my scars, especially when on airplanes or when it's raining outside. Does anyone have any recommendations for surgeons in the California Bay Area who specialize in this type of surgery? My surgeon is not in my area since I have moved.
Answer: Scar revision. This may well be the way your body makes scar in that area. It may well be worthwhile for ONE attempt at revising them to try to achieve an improved result. But if all goes well with that procedure and the aftercare, and you make a similar scar again, that is just genetic. If you have not already, be sure to try noninvasive modlaities first such as topical silicone or laser.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Vbeam laser can help reduce redness in the scar Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Should I opt for scar revision on my breast augmentation scars? Follow the link below to the second column, second row to see a case just like you. This is a very common case in my office. You implants are bottoming-out due to an unfortunate release of your muscle. This is continue and cause more drooping with time. You scar was probably placed below your fold when it was made. The implant has slid so far downward the the fold is now far below the fold. This has now caused your nipple to rotate upward, well above the middle of the implant (they should be highest middle, best slightly below middle). Your implants are now as much on your abdomen as on your chest. If you don't want too long, this is correctable with a capsulorraphy. If you wait too long (and more stretching occurs), you will likely need to add a lift. Your scar can be cut out and made fresh at the time of surgery. Your incision will be located in the fold after the surgery.Good luck.

Answer: Wide incisional scars and implant malposition Based on your photos, your scars are wide. But, they are not hypertrophic. In addition, it appears that your implants have dropped or bottomed out resulting in implant malposition. Capsule repair along with scar revision will do 2 things.1. Improve the position of your implants2. Reposition the scar so that lies less visible or hidden along the lower breast crease.Thank you for sharing your concerns and photos. Best wishes.

Answer: Scar revision? You would probably improve a lot with a scar revision. Some times the new implant causes a lot of pressure and spreads the scar. Now that your skin is accustomed to the implant, hopefully your scar will do better. Of course there is always the risk of the scar recurring. Most all plastic surgeons do good scar revision work. Good luck.
